There are a myriad number of organizations operating in tandem with the tourism/hospitality sector. But, very few of them do something meaningful to the tourism sector. Apart from development of tourism, at least some of them are showing profound interest in the sustainable development of the ecosystem. Thekkady Destination Promotion Council (TDPC) is such an organization striving for the development of tourism in the area, while taking considerate measures in conserving environment.

Kerala Tourism Minister Kadakkampally Surendran will inaugurate the commencement of the work of the ‘Barrier-Free Kerala Tourism’ project on 27 June. An ‘Accessible tourism’ workshop will also be held the same day in which public-private players in the tourism sector are expected to participate.

It was a distinctive experience for the participants and spectators, when people from 23 different countries performed ‘yoga asanas’ in harmony. Yoga experts from 23 different countries assembled to perform yoga in Kochi as part of the Yoga Ambassadors Tour, organized by Association of Tourism Trade Organizations India (ATTOI), in association with Kerala Tourism and Ayush Minstry. Apart from the foreign delegates, people from different parts of the state also participated in the mass yoga demonstration.
