റാണിപുരം വനമേഖലയിലുള്ള ട്രെക്കിങിന് നിലവിലുള്ള നിരോധനം നീക്കുന്നതിനായി സുരക്ഷാ പരിശോധന നടത്തി. കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറച്ച് ദിവസങ്ങളായി റാണിപുരം മേഖലയില് ലഭിച്ച മഴയില് പുല്മേടുകള് പച്ചപ്പണിഞ്ഞു. കാട്ടുതീ ഉണ്ടാകാന് സാധ്യതയില്ലെന്ന നിഗമനത്തിലാണ് മേലധികാരികള്ക്ക് സുരക്ഷാ റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് നല്കാന് വനംവകുപ്പ് ജില്ലാ അധികാരികള് തീരുമാനിച്ചത്. തേനിയിലുണ്ടായ കാട്ടുതീയുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില് മാര്ച്ച് 12നാണ് വനംവകുപ്പ് കേരളത്തിലെ വനമേഖലകളില് ട്രെക്കിങ് നിരോധനം ഏര്പ്പെടുത്തിയത്. എന്നാല് നിരോധനമറിയാതെ ഇപ്പോഴും റാണിപുരത്തേക്ക് സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ ഒഴുക്ക് തുടരുന്നുണ്ട്. ദൂരസ്ഥലങ്ങളില് നിന്ന് ബസുകളിലും മറ്റുമായി നിരവധി പേരാണ് റാണിപുരത്തെത്തുന്നത്.
