വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കത്തെത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് രണ്ടാഴ്‌ചയായി അടച്ചിട്ടിരുന്ന കൊച്ചി വിമാനത്താവളം പൂര്‍ണതോതില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം പുനരാരംഭിച്ചു. ബുധനാഴ്‌ച ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 2.06 ന് അഹമ്മദാബാദില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ഇന്‍ഡിഗോ (6ഇ 667) വിമാനമാണ് പുനരാരംഭിച്ച ശേഷം വിമാനത്താവളത്തില്‍ ആദ്യമെത്തിയത്. പെരിയാര്‍ കരകവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകിയതോടെ ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 15 ന് പുലര്‍ച്ചെയാണ് വിമാനത്താവളം അടച്ചത്. പരിസര പ്രദേശങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം വിമാനത്താവളവും വെള്ളത്തിനടിയിലായി. ചുറ്റുമതില്‍ തകര്‍ന്നതുള്‍പ്പെടെ സാരമായ കേടുപാടുകള്‍ വിമാനത്താവളത്തിന് സംഭവിച്ചു. വൈദ്യുതി വിതരണ സംവിധാനം, റണ്‍വെ ലൈറ്റുകള്‍, ജനറേറ്ററുകള്‍ എന്നിവയെല്ലാം തകരാറിലായി. വെള്ളം ഇറങ്ങിക്കഴിഞ്ഞ് ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 20 നാണ് സിയാല്‍ പുനരുദ്ധാരണ […]
