മധ്യ ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ ആദ്യമായി കരിംപുലി സാന്നിധ്യം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു. ഛത്തീസ്ഗഡിലെ ഗരിയാദാബാദ് ജില്ലയിലുള്ള ഉഡാന്തി-സിതാനദി കടുവാ സങ്കേതത്തിലാണ് കരിംപുലിയുടെ സാന്നിധ്യമുണ്ടെന്ന് വനംവകുപ്പ് സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചത്. 2016 ഡിസംബര്‍ മുതല്‍ 2017 ഏപ്രില്‍ വരെയുള്ള 80 ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ വനത്തില്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ച 200ലേറെ കാമറകളില്‍ കരിംപുലിയുടെ ദൃശ്യങ്ങള്‍ പതിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. മുമ്പ് പല ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും കരിംപുലിയെ നേരിട്ട് കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ശാസ്ത്രീയ തെളിവുകളുടെ സഹായത്തോടെയാണ് വനംവകുപ്പ് ഇക്കാര്യം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് ഇപ്പോള്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ കൈവശം ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫിക് തെളിവുകളുമുണ്ടെന്ന് ചീഫ് കണ്‍സര്‍വേറ്റര്‍ ഓഫ് ഫോറസ്റ്റ് ഒ.പി യാദവ് അറിയിച്ചു.
