MOT signs MOU with YATRA.COM

Ministry of Tourism, Government of India to strengthen the Hospitality & Tourism Industry signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yatra on 02nd July 2021. The event was organized under the arrangement between the Ministry of Tourism and the Quality Council of India (QCI) for implementing measures for strengthening the Indian Hospitality & Tourism Industry. The primary objective of this MoU is to provide extensive visibility to accommodation units, which have self-certified themselves on SAATHI (System for Assessment, Awareness & Training for the Hospitality Industry) on the OTA platform. Online travel company Yatra.com on Tuesday said it has entered into a partnership  with upGrad Enterprise (the B2B arm of online higher education firm upGrad), thus foraying into the educational technology (edutech) segment. As the company aims to diversify its portfolio beyond travel, this partnership will enable its corporate clients to deliver advanced learning and skill development for their employees, Yatra.com said in a statement. Dip in rupee not affected holiday plans: Yatra Survey

More than 58 per cent of respondents remain unaffected by the dip in the rupee and continue to pursue their holiday plans, according to a survey by Yatra.com.  Looking beyond the US Dollar exchange rate, the stable Euro is attracting Indian travellers. Europe (42 per cent) has emerged as a destination of choice, closely followed by South East Asian countries, including, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia (30 per cent). The strengthening of the US dollar against Indian rupee has also adversely impacted America as a choice of destination for vacation. ASI facilitates online booking for monuments

Delighting news for those who love a bit of history! The tourists who wish to visit historic monuments in the country can now book the tickets from mobile phones. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has signed MoU with Yatra.com and BookMyShow, which will allow the foreign and domestic tourists online for the listed 141 historical monuments, sites and museums in India. 3 out of 4 Indians ready to spend on travel: Survey

According to a recent survey by professional online travel search engine ‘Yatra.com’, around 75 per cent of Indian respondents are agreeing to spend nearly Rs 25,000 for a seasonal trip. As per the company, Indians prefer to travel during summer to avoid the wrath of summer heat. Over 75 per cent prefer to travel by air, followed by 90 per cent to rely on Indian Railways.
