VLT device and panic buttons will be mandatory in public transport from Jan 2019
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued notification under the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 mandating the provision of Vehicle Location Tracking (VLT) device and emergency buttons in all Public Service Vehicles registered on or after 1st January, 2019. States may decide timelines for implementation of VLT and emergency buttons in vehicles registered upto 31st December, 2018. Two-wheelers, E-rickshaw, three wheelers and any transport vehicles for which no permit is required under the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 are exempted from this requirement. First underwater FM show for women safety in Kerala

The show is organized by Bond Ocean Safari in association with Big FM, as part of their programme named ‘Vande Keralam Season 6, aiming at protecting women and children from abuses and atrocities. സ്ത്രീ സുരക്ഷ: വ്യത്യസ്ത പ്രതിഷേധവുമായി റൈഡേഴ്‌സ്
വര്‍ധിച്ചു വരുന്ന സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്ക് നേരെയുള്ള അക്രമണങ്ങള്‍ക്കെതിരെ സന്ദേശവുമായി ബൈക്ക് യാത്രികര്‍. അക്രമണങ്ങള്‍ നടക്കുമ്പോള്‍ എല്ലാവരും പഴിക്കുന്നത് സ്ത്രീകളെയാണ്. എന്നാല്‍ സ്ത്രീകളല്ല മറിച്ച് പുരുഷന്‍മാരുടെ മനസ്സാണ് മാന്യമാവേണ്ടത് എന്ന സന്ദേശവുമായാണ് കേരളത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍നിന്നെത്തിയ 25 പേര്‍ യാത്ര നടത്തിയത്. 21 യുഎം റെനഗഡെ മോട്ടോര്‍ സൈക്കിളുകളിലായാണ് കോഴിക്കോട്, കണ്ണൂര്‍, വയനാട് ജില്ലകളിലൂടെ യാത്ര നടത്തിയത്. കോഴിക്കോട് ചക്കോരത്തുകുളത്തുള്ള കോണ്ടിനെന്റല്‍ മോട്ടോര്‍ വര്‍ക്‌സാണ് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച യാത്ര പ്രധാന പട്ടണങ്ങള്‍ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ച് സന്ദേശ പ്രചാരണ റാലിയും പ്രതിജ്ഞയെടുക്കലുമാണ് ഒരുക്കിയിരുന്നത്. യുണൈറ്റഡ് മോട്ടോഴ്‌സ് നോര്‍ത്ത് കേരള സെയില്‍സ് മാനേജര്‍ ഷാംലിന്‍ വിക്ടര്‍ ഷൈന്‍് നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കിയ യാത്ര കോഴിക്കോടുനിന്ന് മാഹി, തലശ്ശേരി, മുഴുപ്പിലങ്ങാട്, കൂത്തുപറമ്പ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലൂടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ച് പേരിയ ചുരം കയറി വയനാട്ടില്‍ പ്രവേശിച്ചു. കല്‍പറ്റയില്‍ ആദ്യദിനം സമാപിച്ചു. വയനാട് ജില്ലയിലെ വിവിധ നഗരങ്ങളിലൂടെ സന്ദേശയാത്ര നടത്തിയ ശേഷം താമരശ്ശേരി, കൊടുവളളി വഴി കോഴിക്കോട് മൊഫ്യൂസില്‍ ബസ് സ്റ്റാന്‍ഡില്‍ യാത്ര സമാപിച്ചു.
