Kerala Tourism signs MoU for conducting Champions Boat League
Kerala Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a consortium led by Delhi-based E Factor Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. for branding, promoting, marketing and revenue generation activities of the Champions Boat League from 2019 to 2023. As per the MoU, the agency will be responsible for promotional activities for five years. The government will get 35 per cent revenue share. The other member of the consortium is AMP Communications Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. Kerala Tourism invites proposals to conduct Champions Boat League
The Department of Tourism has invited proposals from eligible sports/event management agencies for branding, promoting, marketing and revenue generation activities of the Champions Boat League. The last date of submitting proposals has been extended till 3 pm, February 21, 2019. The selected agency will be responsible for promotional activities for five years. From this year onward, the famed snake boat races of Kerala are to be held in a league format on all Saturdays from August to November 1. Sahin Tendulkar to be Chief Guest in Nehru Trophy Boat Race 2018
Kerala’s backwaters and major rivers are all set for yet another season of traditional boat race – ‘vallam kali’. This year, the government is planning to commence a new concept in boat race - ‘Kerala Boat League’, following the pattern of IPL. “The first nine snake boats (chundan vallam), those display competence in the Nehru Trophy Boat Race will be participating in the KBL,”said the Finance Minister Dr. T M Thomas Issac. He was talking in the General Body Meeting prior to the 66th ‘Nehru Trophy Vallam Kali’.
