Uzbekistan is initiating a unique approach to restore its tourism industry by paying tourists $3,000 if they contract COVID-19 while visiting. With an aim to encourage more Indian film productions to shoot in its scenic and historic locations, the Central Asian Republic of Uzbekistan is planning to roll out an attractive incentive scheme next year. “There will be 20 per cent capital subsidy available for film production units interested to shoot films in Uzbekistan from 2020. Uzbekistan will start issuing an electronic visa for citizens of 51 countries, including India, from July 15. It also announced a 5-day visa-free transit regime for 101 countries. An electronic visa will be issued for a period of 30 days in the territory of Uzbekistan with a single entry. The issued electronic visa will be valid for 90 days from the date of its issuance.
