Tripura Tourism dept to construct replicas of 51 Shaktipeeths
With an aim to boost tourism in Tripura, the state government has decided to construct 51 temples, which would be replicas of the 51 Shaktipeeths and has also started a helicopter service to Devatamura and Unnakoti hills, famous for huge-rock cut sculptures. The state government has already allocated 14.22 acres of land for construction of replicas of Shaktipeeths at Fulkumari in Gomati district, about 3-km away from the Tripuresari temple, a famous temple and one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. “There are 51 Shaktipeeths. India at third position in the tourism sector after China and US
India attained third position in the tourism sector after China and the US and 13.92 million jobs have been created in the sector in the last four years, Union Tourism Minister K.J. Alphons said. He was speaking at the 7th edition of the International Tourism Mart at Agartala, Tripura. “We want to achieve more, both in foreign tourists’ arrival in the country and earning from tourism sector. Tripura to host 7th International Tourism Mart
Photo for representative purpose only Tripura will host three-day 7th International Tourism Mart from November 22. As many as 80 international tour operators from 21 countries including Bangladesh, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, China, Thailand, South Africa and Russia will attend the fair and engage in dialogue with the state tour operators, attend seminars and visit different tourist spots of the state. Tripura to host 7th International Tourism Mart
Ujjayanda Palace, Agartala Tripura will host the 7th International Tourism Mart from 22nd November 2018 at Agartala. The three day event, which aims at propagate tourism potentials of the northeast states, will have tour operator delegates from 18 countries. It was announced by Singha Roy, Tripura Tourism Minister on Sunday. Tripura holds annual boat race in Melaghar
Tripura’s Melaghar is known for its annual boat racing festival. Centre sanctions Rs 190 crores for Tripura and Assam
With an aim to enable the state to build suitable infrastructure across the state, the Union ministry has sanctioned Rs 90 crores to Tripura. As Part of the ‘Prasad’ scheme, which aims at developing the religious sites, another Rs 10 crores has also been allotted. The funds will be utilized for the development of temples, mosques and monasteries. Tripura starts exporting ‘Queen’ pineapples to Dubai
Emiratis have started tasting Tripura’s ‘Queen’ variety of pineapples for the first time from this week onwards. The Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has flagged off a tonne consignment to Dubai this Sunday on a SpiceJet aircraft via New Delhi. SpiceJet has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government-run Tripura Horticulture Corp and a Kolkata-based company to facilitate the exports.
