Tripura Tourism dept to construct replicas of 51 Shaktipeeths
With an aim to boost tourism in Tripura, the state government has decided to construct 51 temples, which would be replicas of the 51 Shaktipeeths and has also started a helicopter service to Devatamura and Unnakoti hills, famous for huge-rock cut sculptures. The state government has already allocated 14.22 acres of land for construction of replicas of Shaktipeeths at Fulkumari in Gomati district, about 3-km away from the Tripuresari temple, a famous temple and one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. “There are 51 Shaktipeeths. Tripura Tourism to have a new logo
Chief Minister Biplav Kumar Deb launches the new logo of Tripura Tourism (Photo Courtesy: The Telegraph) Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister of Tripura has launched a new logo for the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation on Tuesday, 25th September 2018. The logo was designed by a final-year computer science engineering student – Debaditya Bhowmik- at National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala. Tripura starts exporting ‘Queen’ pineapples to Dubai
Emiratis have started tasting Tripura’s ‘Queen’ variety of pineapples for the first time from this week onwards. The Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has flagged off a tonne consignment to Dubai this Sunday on a SpiceJet aircraft via New Delhi. SpiceJet has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government-run Tripura Horticulture Corp and a Kolkata-based company to facilitate the exports. President Ramnath Kovind, who is expected to visit Tripura tomorrow would declare the ‘Queen’ variety of pineapple as the state fruit. DoNER approves two projects to boost tourism in Tripura
Two projects worth Rs 48 crore was approved by the Union Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) in a plan to encourage tourism in Tripura, said State Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy. The allotted funds will be used for repairing and developing two roads that connect Chabimura and Tirthamuk, two tourism spots at Amarpur sub-division in Gomati district. The projects were approved last week in New Delhi at a meeting of the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme, an inter-ministerial body.
