External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday held wide-ranging talks with her Bahrain counterpart Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmed al Khalifa during which they discussed ways to expand cooperation in a number of fields including tourism, oil and gas, petrochemicals, security, defense and intelligence training. Hamisi Kigwangalla, Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, said, “Beach tourism is not being promoted on mainland Tanzania with its abundant potential.” He was talking in a news conference in the commercial capital Dar es Salaam. Around 387,000 tourists visited Red Sea in June this year, in which 300,000 were foreign tourists, according to the Red Sea governorate’s statistics. German tourists recorded the highest number among other nationalities with 110,655 tourists. Egyptians came second with 82,640. Czech tourists came third with 27,852 visitors, while the British came fourth with 22,527 and the Polish ranks fifth with 20,238 tourists. It is with the intention to highlight the ecologically important areas and to increase awareness to conserve them. സംസ്ഥാനം സമ്പൂര്‍ണ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് നിരോധനത്തിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങുന്നു. ആദ്യഘട്ടമായി വിനോദസഞ്ചാര-ആരോഗ്യമേഖലകളില്‍ നിന്ന് പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് കുപ്പിവെള്ളത്തെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു. നക്ഷത്രഹോട്ടലുകള്‍, റിസോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍, ഹൗസ്‌ബോട്ടുകള്‍, 500 കിടക്കകള്‍ക്ക് മുകളില്‍ സൗകര്യമുള്ള ആശുപത്രികള്‍ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലാണ് ആറുമാസത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് കുപ്പിവെള്ളത്തിന് നിരോധനം ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്താന്‍ സംസ്ഥാന മലിനീകരണ നിയന്ത്രണബോര്‍ഡ് തീരുമാനമെടുത്തത്. അടുത്തഘട്ടത്തില്‍ സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ എല്ലാ വിനോദസഞ്ചാരകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലും പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് നിരോധിക്കും. നിലവില്‍ 50 മൈക്രോണില്‍ താഴെയുള്ള പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് കവറുകള്‍ക്കു മാത്രമാണ് കേരളത്തില്‍ നിരോധനമുള്ളത്. ജൂണ്‍ മുതല്‍ ആറുമാസമാണ് പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് കുപ്പിവെള്ളത്തെ പുറത്താക്കാന്‍ ഈ മേഖലകള്‍ക്ക് നല്‍കുന്ന സമയം. പകരം ചില്ലുകുപ്പികള്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കാനാണ് നിര്‍ദ്ദേശം. സുരക്ഷിതമായ കുടിവെള്ളത്തിനായി ഇത്തരം സ്ഥാപനങ്ങള്‍ സ്വന്തമായി കുടിവെള്ള ട്രീറ്റ്‌മെന്റ് പ്ലാന്റ്, റിവേഴ്‌സ് ഓസ്‌മോസിസ് പ്ലാന്റ് തുടങ്ങിയവ സ്ഥാപിക്കണം. ചില്ലുകുപ്പി സ്റ്റെറിലൈസേഷന്‍ യൂണിറ്റുകളും തുടങ്ങണം. മലിനീകരണ നിയന്ത്രണബോര്‍ഡിന്റെ ജില്ലാ ഓഫീസുകള്‍ മുഖേന നക്ഷത്രഹോട്ടലുകള്‍ക്കും റിസോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍ക്കും ആശുപത്രികള്‍ക്കും ഹൗസ്‌ബോട്ടുകള്‍ക്കും ഉടന്‍ നോട്ടീസ് നല്‍കും. പരിസ്ഥിതി സംരക്ഷണ നിയമത്തിന്റെ അഞ്ചാം വകുപ്പ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് നിരോധനം നടപ്പാക്കുക. നിരോധനം ലംഘിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് അഞ്ചുമുതല്‍ ഏഴ് ലക്ഷം ...
