The Ministry of Tourism signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Government for the Republic of Korea for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism in New Delhi today. The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Korea for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism. Delhi and Moscow sign agreement for cooperation in tourism

Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi with Sergey Cheremin, Minister of Moscow Delhi government has signed a twin city agreement with Moscow, Russia, on 5th October 2018, for cooperation tourism, transport, education, culture, healthcare, e-governance and environment. DTPC organizes boat rally in Alappuzha to mark the revival of backwaters

Backwaters of Alappuzha are in the process of revival after the chaos of the rain and floods. Kollam port to boost tourism and cargo operations

Kollam port, in the southern district of Kerala, is expected to be a hub for cargo operations and cruise tourism, once the ongoing up gradation works are completed. Goa and Japan plan to have ties between the two regions to boost tourism. Ryoji Noda, Consul General of Japan met Menino D’Souza, Director of Tourism, Goa on Thursday, 6th September 2018. Goa restructures the committee on tourism plan

The government of Goa has re-formed the committee to evaluate the progress of the works on preparation of a master plan and tourism policy for the state. The work has been assigned to the renowned consultants, M/s. KPMG Advisory Services Private Limited of Spain. The 12 member committee will be headed by the Tourism Secretary, with association of the Additional Secretary of Finance. Tourism industry excels construction industry in Spain

Tourism has excelled the construction industry in Spain in terms of employment generation. As per a recent survey by the Spanish Institute of Tourism, 2.65 million people are engaged in different sectors of tourism, which represent around 13.7 percentage of the total population of the nation, meanwhile construction sector account for around 13.1 per cent. Inauguration of Jatayu Earths Center postponed

Considering the disastrous situation of rain and flood in the state, the inauguration function of Jatayu Earth’s Center at Chadayamangalam, Kollam, has been postponed until further notice. It was informed by Kadakampally Surendran, Tourism Minister of Kerala. “The helicopter of Jadayu Earth’s Center will be used for rescue operations in the flood affected areas,” said Rajiv Anchal, Managing Director, Jatayu Earth’s Center. Earlier, it was planned to inaugurate on 17th August 2018.  

Malta ties up with Bollywood for tourism promotion

Malta, a small Mediterranean Island is hoping to have 20 per cent growth in Indian tourist arrivals this year. Last year around 4,000 Indian tourists visited Malta in 2017. “With India being one of the biggest upcoming markets for tourism in Malta, we want to exploit its full potential. Increase in foreign tourists’ spent in Brazil

Foreign tourists’ spent in Brazil has been showing an increasing tendency in recent years. During the first half of the year 2018, the income earned from foreign tourists has increased by 5.94 per cent when compared to the previous year, as stated by an official of the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism.
