Ancient tourist circuit connecting southern Kerala to Tamil Nadu to be reinstated
Raviz Group of Hotels is planning to reinstate an ancient tourist circuit connecting southern Kerala with Tamil Nadu. This route, which will connect Kollam and Kovalam with Southern Tamil Nadu, was used by foreigners for tourism and trade purposes some 30 years ago. During 1970s and 80s the foreign tourists used to use the southern circuit to visit Kerala. സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ മനസ്സും ശരീരവും കുളിര്‍പ്പിക്കുന്ന കിഴക്കന്‍ മേഖലയിലെ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടമാണ് ഐന്തരുവി. തെങ്കാശിയില്‍ നിന്ന് എട്ടുകിലോമീറ്റര്‍ സഞ്ചരിച്ചാല്‍ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടത്തിന്റെ അടുത്തെത്താം. കുറ്റാലത്തില്‍ എത്തുന്ന എല്ലാവരും ഐന്തരുവിയും സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ചേ മടങ്ങൂ. അതിര്‍ത്തിയില്‍ നല്ല മഴ ലഭിച്ചതിനാല്‍ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം പൂര്‍ണതോതിലായി. മുകളില്‍ പാറയിലൂടെ ഒഴുകുന്ന വെള്ളം വലിയ അഞ്ച് വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടമായാണ് താഴേക്ക് പതിക്കുന്നത്. ഇങ്ങനെ നിരവധി സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് ഒരുമിച്ച് കുളിക്കാനുള്ള അവസരമാണ് ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത്. തമിഴില്‍ ‘ഐന്തരുവി’എന്നാല്‍ അഞ്ച് അരുവി എന്നാണര്‍ഥം. വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം പൂര്‍ണതോതിലായതോടെ സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ തിരക്കാണ്. പുരുഷന്മാര്‍ക്കും സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കും വെവ്വേറെയാണ് കുളിസ്ഥലം അനുവദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇതിലൂടെ തിരക്ക് നിയന്ത്രിച്ച് സുരക്ഷിതമായി കുളിക്കാന്‍.
Tea and Tourism festival begins in Ooty
The much famed Tea and Tourism festival begins in Ooty. The tea and tourism festival, which used to be held during autumn season, was included in the Ooty summer festival this year. The festival was introduced in 1994 to hold it in winter holidays to bring more tourists to the hills. The two-day event was inaugurated at the Research Centre for Tribal Culture building in Ooty on Saturday. This year the festival boasts 10 stalls and, on display are tea-ice cream and a variety of flavoured teas.
Villivakkam lake to be an eco-tourist spot soon
One more eco-tourist spot to be adorned in Tamil Nadu as the works for developing the Villivakkam lake into an eco-tourist spot officially began on Wednesday. The project was inaugurated by S P Velumani, the Minister for Municipal Administration. The lake that has of total area of 36.50 acres will have its 24.64 acres developed into an eco-tourist spot. The eco-tourist spot will be developed by The Greater Chennai Corporation at a budget of 16 crore as in their plan to restore 32 water bodies under Smart City project. Ministry asks Bihar to rework on Ramayana circuit proposal
Tourism Ministry has asked Bihar to rework on the Ramayana Circuit proposal it had submitted. The State Government of Bihar has submitted the proposal for development of Sitamarhi, Buxar and Darbhanga under Ramayana Circuit. “A presentation on the project was made in the Ministry of Tourism on 13.02.2018 and based on discussion, the State Government has been requested to rework on the project as per scheme guidelines,” informed K J Alphons, Union Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism. The State Disaster Management Authority of Kerala has directed the government to enforce a fishing ban after the India Meteorology Department warned of rain, squally winds and rough sea conditions and extended its advisory for fishermen. The Chief Minister’s office has directed District Collectors to disseminate the weather warning to fishermen. The Departments of Revenue and Fisheries and the Coastal police have also been advised to remain vigilant. മധുര മീനാക്ഷി ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ മാര്‍ച്ച് മൂന്ന് മുതല്‍ മൊബൈല്‍ ഫോണ്‍ അനുവദിക്കില്ല. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ സുരക്ഷ വര്‍ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിട്ടാണ് മൊബൈല്‍ ഫോണിന് നിരോധനം ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്താന്‍ ഉത്തരവിട്ടിരുന്നു. ഇതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്ര അധികൃതര്‍ മാര്‍ച്ച് മൂന്ന് മുതല്‍ ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ മൊബൈല്‍ നിരോധനം വരുമെന്ന് അറിയിച്ചു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ മാസം വന്‍ തീപിടുത്തത്തെതുടര്‍ന്ന് വ്യാപകമായി നാശനഷ്ടം സംഭവിച്ചിരുന്നു ഇതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് സുരക്ഷ കര്‍ശനമാക്കാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചത്.

Ferry services to connect Kerala and TN
