SpiceJet launches 10 new UDAN flights, 8 connecting Gwalior
SpiceJet has launched eight new daily direct flights to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh under UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme. Gwalior will be SpiceJet’s 11th destination under the regional connectivity scheme. In addition to the eight new flights to Gwalior, SpiceJet has also announced four new daily flights connecting Bhopal including the Bhopal-Udaipur UDAN flight. Gwalior will be SpiceJet’s 52nd domestic destination. SpiceJet to start Hyderabad-Jeddah daily flight from March 25, 2019
SpiceJet will start a daily direct flight between Hyderabad and Jeddah from March 25, 2019. This is the ninth foreign destination of the airline. SpiceJet will operate its new 189-seater Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on the route, the airline said in its press statement. Kannur airport to start UDAN services from Friday
Kannur Airport Services under the union ministry’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme have been launched in Kannur Airport, to provide air travel for Indian cities at low rates. IndiGo launched its first service under the scheme from Friday, 26th January 2019. SpiceJet to launch 12 new flights from January 20
SpiceJet has announced the launch of 12 non-stop flights and frequencies from January 20. “With the new flights, passengers from Dehradun, Jammu, Jaipur, Amritsar, Varanasi, Madurai and Vijayawada can now easily travel to a host of other cities,” the airline said in a statement. “SpiceJet will be the first Indian carrier to introduce daily direct flights on the Dehradun-Jammu, Dehradun-Jaipur and Dehradun-Amritsar routes,” it said. SpiceJet has announced a daily direct flight on the Kolkata-Lilabari route under the regional connectivity scheme, UDAN. Reiterating its focus on regional connectivity, the airline also announced a new direct flight connecting Kolkata with Jabalpur and an additional frequency on Hyderabad-Jabalpur route. Spicejet launches 6 daily flights from Chennai
SpiceJet has announced the launch of six new direct flights connecting Chennai with key pilgrim centres like Varanasi and Shirdi and tourist spots like Port Blair and Bagdogra. All the flights are scheduled to commence from January 10, 2019, except the one on Chennai-Bagdogra route which will start operations from February 11, 2019. Winter flight schedule for the Cochin International Airport will be effective from Sunday, 28th October 2018. This will continue until 30th March 2019. SpiceJet to start Jaisalmer flights under UDAN II
SpiceJet is introducing flights from Ahmedabad and Surat in Gujarat to Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, under the regional connectivity scheme UDAN. The direct Ahmedabad-Jaisalmer-Ahmedabad and Surat-Jaisalmer-Surat flights will commence operations on October 31 and November 30, respectively. The routes were awarded to the airline under UDAN II. With the introduction of the two routes, SpiceJet will operate 25 daily flights under UDAN in straight 14 months since its first launch in July 2017. SpiceJet is all set to launch its dedicated air cargo services from September 18. The carrier said it would operate the cargo services under the brand name ‘SpiceXpress’ and has a detailed plan for domestic as well as international routes. SpiceJet today successfully operated “India’s first ever biojet fuel flight” which took off from Dehradun and landed at the airport in Delhi. the national capital. The SpiceJet flight, a Bombardier Q400 aircraft, partially using biojet fuel, was powered with a blend of 75 per cent air turbine fuel (ATF) and 25 per cent biojet fuel, it said. “The advantage of using biojet fuel as compared to ATF is that it reduces carbon emissions and enhances fuel efficiency. Low-cost carrier SpiceJet is all set to test India’s first biofuel-powered flight on August 27 as it is planning to cut its aviation fuel bill. SpiceJet is planning to operate a turboprop Q-400 from Dehradun to Delhi using this sustainable alternative fuel. If the test passes off successfully, the aircraft — powered by a mix of conventional air turbine fuel and biofuel — will operate a flight to Delhi.
