ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ ആദ്യമായി സ്ത്രീകള്‍ വാഹനമോടിക്കാന്‍ നിരത്തിലിറങ്ങുന്ന ഈ മാസം 24 ‘വിമന്‍ ഡ്രൈവിങ്’ ദിനമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച് സൗദി. വനിതകള്‍ക്കു ഡ്രൈവിങ് ലൈസന്‍സ് വിതരണം ചെയ്തു തുടങ്ങി. ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തില്‍ വിദേശ ലൈസന്‍സ് സൗദിയിലേക്കു മാറ്റിയെടുത്ത 10 വനിതകളുടെ പ്രതികരണങ്ങള്‍ സഹിതം പ്രചാരണവും ആരംഭിച്ചു. അടുത്തയാഴ്ചയ്ക്കകം 2000 പേര്‍ക്കു ലൈസന്‍സ് നല്‍കുമെന്ന് അധികൃതര്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. അതേസമയം, ഗതാഗത നിയമലംഘനം നടത്തുന്ന സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കും ശിക്ഷ ഉറപ്പാക്കണമെന്നു മന്ത്രിസഭാ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. ഗുരുതര നിയമലംഘനം നടത്തുന്നവരെ തൊഴില്‍, സാമൂഹിക വികസന മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ കീഴില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീ സംരക്ഷണ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലേക്കു മാറ്റും. ഇവരുടെ വാഹനം കണ്ടുകെട്ടണമെന്നുള്ള നിര്‍ദേശവും ഗതാഗതവകുപ്പ് മുന്നോട്ടുവച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 30 വയസ്സിനു താഴെയുള്ള സ്ത്രീകളെ ജഡ്ജിയുടെ ഉത്തരവിലൂടെ മാത്രമേ സംരക്ഷണ കേന്ദ്രത്തില്‍നിന്നു മോചിപ്പിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ. 30 വയസ്സിനു മുകളിലുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് ശിക്ഷാകാലാവധി പൂര്‍ത്തിയായാല്‍ പുറത്തിറങ്ങാം.

സൗദിയില്‍ വനിതകള്‍ക്ക് ഡ്രൈവിംഗ് ലൈസന്‍സ് നല്‍കി തുടങ്ങി. സൗദി ജനറല്‍ ട്രാഫിക്ക് ഡയറക്ടറേറ്റാണ് ലൈസന്‍സ് നല്‍കി തുടങ്ങിയത്. സൗദിയില്‍ വനിതകള്‍ക്ക് വാഹനമോടിക്കാന്‍ ഉള്ള അനുമതിക്ക് ഇനി ഒരു മാസത്തേക്ക് താഴെ മാത്രം സമയമുള്ളപ്പോഴാണ് വനിതകള്‍ക്ക് ആദ്യ ഡ്രൈവിംഗ് ലൈസന്‍സ് നല്‍കി തുടങ്ങിയത്. വിദേശത്ത് നിന്ന് നേരത്തെ ഡ്രൈവിംഗ് ലൈസന്‍സ് കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയവര്‍ക്കാണ് പുതിയ സൗദ് ലൈസന്‍സ് നല്‍കിയത്. 2017 സെപ്തംബര്‍ 27നായിരുന്നു സൗദി ഭരണാധികാരി വനിതകള്‍ക്ക് വാഹനമോടിക്കാനുള്ള അനുമതി നല്‍കുമെന്ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്. ഈ മാസം 24 മുതലാണ് നിരത്തില്‍ വനിതകള്‍ക്ക് വാഹനമോടിക്കാനുള്ള അനുമതി. 18 വയസ്സും അതിന് മുകളില്‍ പ്രായമുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും ലൈസന്‍സ് ലഭിക്കും. വനികള്‍ക്ക് ഡ്രൈവിംഗില്‍ പരിശീലനത്തിനുള്ള അഞ്ച് കേന്ദ്രങ്ങള്‍ സൗദിയിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളില്‍ ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. വിദേശത്ത് നിന്നും ഡ്രൈവിങ് ലൈസന്‍സ് കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയ സൗദി അധ്യാപികമാരാണ് ഈ അഞ്ച് സെന്ററുകളില്‍ വെച്ച് പരിശീലനം നല്‍കുന്നത്.

Saudi Arabia has issued its first driver’s licenses to 10 women as the kingdom prepares to lift the world’s only ban on women driving in three weeks. The Saudi General Traffic Directorate began to issue domestic driving licences to women who have international ones. Though the Kingdom has started to grant licenses to women, a number of women who’d campaigned for the right to drive are under arrest and facing charges related to their activism. Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea project said it will offer visas on arrival for overseas visitors following the creation of a company to deliver the ambitious project. The project marked a milestone recently with its incorporation as a standalone closed joint-stock company, The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC), wholly owned by the country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). The newly-incorporated company will now move forward with the creation of its Special Economic Zone, with its own regulatory framework, it said in a statement. സൗദി ആഭ്യന്തര തീര്‍ഥാടര്‍ക്കു ഹജ്ജ് സേവനം നല്‍കുന്ന കമ്പനികള്‍ക്ക് ഈടാക്കാന്‍ അനുമതിയുളള നിരക്കുകള്‍ ഹജ്ജ്, ഉംറ മന്ത്രാലയം പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. സൗകര്യങ്ങളും കാറ്റഗറിയും പരിഗണിച്ച് വ്യത്യസ്ഥ നിരക്കുകളാണ് മന്ത്രാലയം അംഗീകരിച്ചത്. സൗദിയില്‍ നിന്നു ഹജ്ജ് തീര്‍ഥാടനത്തിന് പോകുന്നവരില്‍ നിന്ന് ഈടാക്കാവുന്ന പരമാവധി സര്‍വീസ് ചാര്‍ജ് 11,905 റിയാലാണ്. ഏറ്റവും കുറഞ്ഞ നിരക്ക് 3,465 റിയാലായും ഹജ്ജ്, ഉംറ മന്ത്രാലയം നിശ്ചയിച്ചു. മിനയിലെ മലമുകളില്‍ നിര്‍മിച്ച ബഹുനില സമുച്ചയങ്ങളില്‍ താമസ സൗകര്യം ആവശ്യമുളളവര്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്ന നിരക്ക് അടക്കണം. ജനറല്‍ കാറ്റഗറിയില്‍ 7561 റിയാല്‍ മുതല്‍ 8166 റിയാല്‍ വരെ ഏഴ് നിരക്കുകളാണ് ഉളളത്. രണ്ടാം കാറ്റഗറിയിലെ ഏറ്റവും കുറഞ്ഞ നിരക്ക് 7,410 റിയാലാണ്. മൂന്നാം കാറ്റഗറിയില്‍ 6,608 റിയാല്‍ മുതല്‍ ആറു തരം നിരക്കുകളാണ് അംഗീകരിച്ചിട്ടുളളത്. ജൂണ്‍ ഒന്നുമുതല്‍ ഇ ട്രാക്കിലൂടെ ആവശ്യമുളള കാറ്റഗറി തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാന്‍ തീര്‍ഥാടകര്‍ക്ക് അവസരം ലഭിക്കും. ഏറ്റവും കുറഞ്ഞ നിരക്കില്‍ ഹജ്ജ് നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്നതിന് 10,000 സീറ്റുകളാണ് ഈ വര്‍ഷം ഒരുക്കുന്നതെന്നും ... The no change in visa rates for Pakistani citizens confirms that they will still have to pay 0.1 million to rupees 0.4 million for attaining the tourist visa. Saudi Arabia was the only Gulf state with no public Christian places of worship. Saudi has entered into a deal with Vatican to build churches in the Gulf region. “This is the beginning of a rapprochement… It is a sign that the Saudi authorities are now ready to give a new image to the country,” President of the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, told the Vatican News website after returning from Riyadh. Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, is celebrating its 25th anniversary to Dammam. Originally operating two flights a week, Emirates now flies four times daily between Dammam and Emirates’ hub in Dubai. India topped the list of Dubai’s source markets for inbound tourism, with 617,000 tourists from the country visiting the Emirate between January-March 2018, registering an impressive 7 per cent year-on-year increase. Dubai welcomed almost 4.7 million international overnight tourists, Dubai posted a stable 2 per cent increase in traffic as compared to last year. The first screening was by invitation only with both men and women in attendance. The cinema will be open to public on Friday and will be screening Marvel superhero film Black Panther.
