India is the biggest tourism markets for Dubai and it aims at doubling number of tourists in the coming years. Last year around 2.1 million Indians visited Dubai. In order to achieve the target, Dubai is planning to enhance the air connectivity with India. “Air connectivity at present is not enough; we are running at almost full capacity. With the kind of campaigns we are running, demand will increase further. As part of the incessant efforts of the state to lure tourists to the valley, the Kashmir tourism department has held road shows at Moscow and St Petersburg. Tasaduq Jeelani, Director Tourism, Kashmir, said that the responses from the tour operators were positive. “I personally talked to the heads of the travel trade from Moscow and St Petersburg, who assured that they would send groups to Jammu and Kashmir for holidays, especially for adventure and heritage tourism,” said Jeelani. Uttarakhand Uttarakhand government is conducting ‘Destination Uttarakhand,’ an Investors’ Summit in Dehradun on October 4 and 5, 2018. The ministry will also organize sector-specific Mini Investors Conclaves in different parts of the State in August. Two mini conclaves, specific to tourism sector will be held in Tehri and Nainital on 7th and 10th August respectively.
