In order to ensure quality of services, Kerala Tourism is bringing out a classification system for enterprises practicing Responsible Tourism by May 2018. The pilot project was launched in Kovalam, Kumarakom, Thekkady, and Wayanad in 2008, and is now getting ready to implement in all the 14 districts in Kerala. Responsible Tourism Mission has worked out a criteria for the classification system in line with the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria (GSTC). വടക്കന്‍ കേരളത്തിലെ കണ്ണൂര്‍, കാസര്‍കോട് ജില്ലകളിലെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്ത ടൂറിസം പദ്ധതി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി മലയോര മേഖലകളിലെ കാഴ്ച്ചകളുടെ ചിത്രീകരണം പൂര്‍ത്തിയായി. സംസ്ഥാന ഉത്തരവാദിത്ത ടൂറിസം മിഷന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലാണ് പദ്ധതി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നത്. ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിലേക്ക് കൂടുതല്‍ സഞ്ചാരികളെ എത്തിക്കാനും ആസ്വദിക്കാനും കഴിയുന്ന വിധത്തിലുള്ള ടൂറിസം കേന്ദമാക്കി മാറ്റുകയാണ് പദ്ധതി കൊണ്ട് ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്. മലയോര പ്രദേശങ്ങളില്‍ ടൂറിസം നടപ്പിലാക്കുകയും അതിന്റെ ഗുണം സാധാരണക്കാര്‍ക്ക് ലഭിക്കുകയും വേണം. ഗ്രാമീണ ജനങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതം സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് അടുത്തറിയാനുള്ള അവസരവും ഇതുമൂലം ലഭിക്കും. കൃഷിയിടങ്ങള്‍, വിവിധ തരം കൃഷികള്‍, പശു, ആട്, കോഴി, മുയല്‍, പക്ഷികള്‍, മത്സ്യകൃഷി, പ്രകൃതിസൗന്ദര്യം, തേനീച്ച വളര്‍ത്തല്‍, കുട്ട മെടയല്‍, നീര ടാപ്പിങ് തുടങ്ങിയവയുടെ ദൃശ്യങ്ങളാണു സംഘം ചിത്രീകരിച്ചത്. കാസര്‍കോട് ജില്ലയിലെ പാലാവയല്‍, കണ്ണൂര്‍ ജില്ലയിലെ കോഴിച്ചാല്‍, ജോസ്ഗിരി, താബോര്‍, ചൂരപ്പടവ്, കോക്കടവ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ വീടുകളില്‍ നിന്നും കൃഷിയിടങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുമാണ് ദൃശ്യങ്ങള്‍ പകര്‍ത്തിയത്. ഉത്തരവാദിത്ത ടൂറിസം ജില്ലാ കോ-ഓര്‍ഡിനേറ്റര്‍ സിബിന്‍ പി.പോളിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള സംഘമാണു ചിത്രീകരണം നടത്തുന്നത്. ... The Responsible Tourism (RT) Mission is crafting a new web portal which will enable art lovers to make online booking of performances.  Performers will put up their work along with the details of the artists on the site. The portal is aimed at promoting local art forms, including dance, music, via online marketing. International bloggers who are on a two-week long trip to Kerala reached Kochi today, as part of their visit to the renowned heritage site of Muziris. The first trip was to Kodungalloor to visit the Muziris Heritage project. The bloggers paid a visit to the famed synagogue at Chennamangalam, which is known for its traditional Kerala architecture that has put to play western construction technology. Kadalundi Tourism minister Kadakampally Surendran will inaugurate ‘Jalayanam’ on March 24 at the Mampuzha Farm Tourism Centre in Olavanna, Calicut. ‘Jalayanam’ is aimed at developing farm and aquatic tourism initiatives and is expected to boost tourism in Kadalundi and Olavanna areas. Mampuzha, Chaliyar, Kaladundi rivers and its nearby areas are included in the project. Vembanad lake in Alappuzha, famed for its ornately carved traditional houseboats, is the centerpiece of Kerala’s tourist trade. Pollution is turning the largest wetland ecosystem in south India, Vembanad lake in Alappuzha into a weed-clogged swamp, hampering the recovery of tourism in the region. Cleaning up the lake is vital to tourism and referring to this the Kerala state Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran said the Responsible Tourism Mission will lead the cleaning up activities of the lake. “The RT Mission will initiate various measures, including a ban on plastic in houseboats, their classifications and various other cleaning activities to rectify the situation,” ... Kumarakom, chosen as one of the iconic destinations in India, needs collective effort to make it a world-class destination, opined Union Minister of State for Tourism KJ Alphons. He also pointed out that it can only be attained through the development of all panchayats in and around the Vembanad Lake. The minister was addressing a two-day stakeholder consultation programme held to discuss various issues related to the comprehensive tourism development programmes in Kumarakom.
