The Responsible Tourism (RT) Mission is crafting a new web portal which will enable art lovers to make online booking of performances. Performers will put up their work along with the details of the artists on the site. The portal is aimed at promoting local art forms, including dance, music, via online marketing. Tourism min to inaugurate ‘Jalayanam’ on March 24
Kadalundi Tourism minister Kadakampally Surendran will inaugurate ‘Jalayanam’ on March 24 at the Mampuzha Farm Tourism Centre in Olavanna, Calicut. ‘Jalayanam’ is aimed at developing farm and aquatic tourism initiatives and is expected to boost tourism in Kadalundi and Olavanna areas. Mampuzha, Chaliyar, Kaladundi rivers and its nearby areas are included in the project. The Mampuzha farm tourism project in Olavanna grama panchayat, a major component of the initiative, features an aqua green organic farm and a boat ride connecting the villages on the banks of Mampuzha. Vembanad lake in Alappuzha, famed for its ornately carved traditional houseboats, is the centerpiece of Kerala’s tourist trade. Pollution is turning the largest wetland ecosystem in south India, Vembanad lake in Alappuzha into a weed-clogged swamp, hampering the recovery of tourism in the region.
