Cyclone Gaja alert sounded in Tamil Nadu, Andhra and Puducherry
Travellers in any of the areas of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry, please stay safe as the authorities have issued a cyclone alert in the regions. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cyclone red alert for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh. Cyclone Titli had earlier made landfall on October 11 and left 62 people dead in Odisha. The IMD said the cyclone Gaja was approaching coastal Tamil Nadu (east-northeast of Chennai) and east-southeast of Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. റെഡ് അലര്‍ട്ട് നീക്കി ; ജാഗ്രതാ നിര്‍ദേശം മാത്രം
അറബിക്കടലിൽ രൂപംകൊണ്ട ന്യൂനമർദ്ദത്തെ തുടർന്ന്‌ ഇടുക്കി, മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലകളിൽ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരുന്ന റെഡ് അലർട്ട്‌ മാറ്റി. ഈ ജില്ലകളിൽ ഓറഞ്ച്‌ അലർട്ട്‌ മാത്രമാണുള്ളത്‌. അതേസമയം സംസ്‌ഥാനമാകെ അതീവ ജാഗ്രതാ നിർദ്ദേശം നിലനിൽക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ന്യൂനമർദ്ദത്തെ തുടർന്ന്‌ അതീതീവ്രമഴക്ക്‌ സാധ്തയുള്ളതിനാലാണ്‌ നേരത്തെ ഈ രണ്ട് ജില്ലകളിൽ റെഡ് അലർട്ട്‌ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്‌. ന്യൂനമർദ്ദം ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റായി രൂപപ്പെട്ട്‌ വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറ്‌ ദിശയിൽ സഞ്ചരിച്ച്‌ ഒമാൻ ‐ യമൻ തീരത്തേക്ക് നീങ്ങുമെന്നാണ്‌ കാലാവസ്‌ഥാ വകുപ്പ് അറിയിക്കുന്നത്‌.
Operation of Kochi International Airport suspended until 18th August
Kochi international airport has suspended its operations for four days. It was informed by the airport authorities in a notification issued. The notification states, “Kochi airport operations temporarily suspended till 18th Saturday 2 PM since the inflow of water is still on a raising trend. We are working hard to drain out the storm water. All are requested to co-operate.” All the suspended services of Kochi will be operated from Thiruvananthapuram Airport. കടലാക്രമണം രൂക്ഷമായ ശംഖുമുഖത്ത് സുരക്ഷ ശക്തമാക്കി ടൂറിസം വകുപ്പ്. ഇതിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി ടൂറിസം ഡയറക്ടർ പി ബാലകിരൺ ഐ എ എസ് ശംഖുമുഖത്തെത്തി സ്ഥിതിഗതികൾ വിലയിരുത്തി. തീരത്തേക്ക് ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളും മറ്റും കടക്കുന്നത് ഒഴിവാക്കുവാൻ ടൂറിസം ഡയറക്ടര്‍ ലൈഫ് ഗാർഡുകളോടും മറ്റു ജീവനക്കാരോടും നിര്‍ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇതിനുപുറമെ പ്രത്യേക സൂചനാ ബോർഡുകളും അപകട സാധ്യത കൂടിയ മേഖലകളിൽ പ്രത്യേക ബാരിക്കേഡുകളും സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കടല്‍ക്ഷോഭം മൂലം തീരം കടലെടുക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യം നിലവിലുള്ളതിനാല്‍ രണ്ട് ദിവസം ശംഖുംമുഖം ബീച്ചില്‍ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നതിന് നിയന്ത്രണം ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തികൊണ്ട് ജില്ലാ കളക്ടർ കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ഉത്തരവ് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചിരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ കടപ്പുറത്തേയ്ക്കുള്ള പ്രവേശനത്തിന് നിയന്ത്രണം ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്താന്‍ ശംഖുംമുഖം എസിപിയെയും മുന്നറിയിപ്പു ബോര്‍ഡുകള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കാന്‍ ഡിടിപിസി സെക്രട്ടറിയെയും കളക്ടർ ചുമതലപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു. ടൂറിസം ഡയറക്ടറോടൊപ്പം ടൂറിസം പ്ലാനിംഗ് ഓഫീസർ വി എസ് സതീഷ്, ഡിടിപിസി സെക്രട്ടറിയുടെ ചുമതല വഹിക്കുന്ന അസ്സിസ്റ്റന്റ് പ്ലാനിംഗ് ഓഫീസർ ജി ജയകുമാരൻ നായർ ഡിടിപിസിയിലെയും ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും സന്ദർശന സംഘത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
