Qatar Airways has been named the world’s first fully-fledged aircraft to fly the covid vaccine. The QR6421 Qatar Airways flight take off from Hamad International Airport at 11.00 am yesterday, carrying only pilots, cabin crew, and passengers who have completed the covid vaccination. The staff at the check-in counter also completed the covid vaccination. The plane, which flew over the Gulf region for three hours on the Doha-Doha service, landed at Hamad International Airport at 2.00 pm local time. Qatar Airways to fly to Cebu, Guangzhou
Qatar Airways will operate three weekly flights to Cebu in Philippines, starting July 24. The airline will also resume its China flights, with a weekly Guangzhou service. Qatar Airways has launched an international arbitration seeking at least $5bn from four Arab countries as compensation for blocking the airline from their airspace for the past three years. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt had imposed a ban on the airline since June 2017 when they cut all ties with Qatar and brought upon an air, land and sea blockade on it, over accusations of supporting “terrorism”. Qatar Airways, on Wednesday, became the first airline to resume operations to Velana International Airport (VIA) after Maldives reopened borders. According to the airline, the scheduled flights will connect via Hamad International Airport located in Doha, Qatar, with European and American destinations including London, Copenhagen, Stockholm and New York. Flying economy class in this airline? Get ready to wear a face shield in addition to the mandatory mask
Qatar Airways will now require economy class passengers to wear a face shield in addition to a face covering. The face shields will be supplied by Qatar Airways at check-in and economy class passengers will only be allowed to remove them during meal and drink services. The rules will not be extended to business or first-class passengers who will simply be asked if they would like to wear a face shield. Qatar Airways to reinstate 18 more destinations by mid-July
Doha-based Qatar Airways has started to reinstate 18 more destinations worldwide. By mid-July, the airline’s network will expand to over 430 weekly flights servicing more than 65 destinations. On Wednesday, the national carrier of the State of Qatar relaunched 11 more destinations, its largest single day of restarts. The carrier said it continues to work closely with governments around the world to resume commercial flights in line with entry restrictions, IANS has reported. Qatar Airways will soon announce special offers including arranging stay at hotels for quarantine purposes. “Qatar Airways will soon announce special offers that will include price of tickets and stay at 5, 4 or 3 star hotels for the purposes of quarantine,” Salam Al Shawa, Senior Vice President Marketing & Corporate Communications for Qatar Airways said in tweet. Qatar Airways introduces new flight protocol to safeguard passengers
Qatar Airways has introduced new flight protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and its crew will now be equipped with full-body gear. “Cabin crew will wear disposable, full body protective gear during flights while passengers must wear face coverings,” the airline stated in a press release. Qatar Airways Cargo to operate flights to India
Amid the corona virus pandemic that has grounded a majority of planes across the world, Qatar Airways Cargo has said it has started 19 weekly flights between Doha and India to get goods such as pharmaceutical products using its passenger aircraft. Qatar Airways has launched a new commercial policy to provide customers with maximum flexibility to suit their travel plans. Passengers who have booked or will book flights for travel up to June 30 this year, will be offered the flexibility to change their travel plans. IndiGo plans non-stop flights between India and Europe
IndiGo is planning to operate non-stop flights between India and Europe, said Ronojoy Dutta, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo. “That is why we have ordered the Airbus Extra Long Range aircraft,” Dutta said at a press conference called to announce IndiGo’s code-share partnership with Qatar Airways. The aircraft was ordered by IndiGo earlier this month as part of a 300- aircraft deal with Airbus. Qatar Airways has launched direct flights to Mombasa city. The flights will be operated with an Airbus A320, with 12 business class and 120 economy class seats, with a flight time of just over six hours.
