Rs 727.16 cr sanctioned for development of 41 religious sites: K J Alphons
Rs 727.16 crore has been sanctioned for development of 41 religious sites under the Prasad scheme till now, said Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism K J Alphons. For development of tourism infrastructure in the country, the Ministry of Tourism launched the schemes of PRASHAD-Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive and Swadesh Darshan – Integrated Development of Theme-Based Tourist Circuits and in the year 2014-15. Centre sanctions Rs 190 crores for Tripura and Assam
With an aim to enable the state to build suitable infrastructure across the state, the Union ministry has sanctioned Rs 90 crores to Tripura. As Part of the ‘Prasad’ scheme, which aims at developing the religious sites, another Rs 10 crores has also been allotted. The funds will be utilized for the development of temples, mosques and monasteries.
