Joao Fernandes, Algarve Region Tourism Board (RTA) President and Algarve Tourism Association (ATA) boss, said Algarve tourism unquestionably remains very strong. Tourism hopes fly high with two new flights between India and Portugal
Qatar Airways and Emirates recently announced their recent launch of new year round services between Portugal and India. Seven times weekly services in summer 2019 and five times weekly service in winter 2019/2020 by Qatar Airways to Lisbon. Four times new weekly services by Emirates to Porto along with its on-going double daily flights year round to Lisbon. Emirates to launch new service to Porto
Emirates will launch a four times weekly service between Portugal’s second largest city, Porto, and Dubai, from 2 July 2019. Porto will become Emirates’ second destination in Portugal after its capital, Lisbon, which the airline currently serves with two flights a day. The flight will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three class cabin configuration, offering eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie flat seats in Business Class and 310 spacious seats in Economy Class. Azul announces new international flight to Porto
Azul, the largest airline in Brazil by number of cities served offering 766 daily flights to 110 destinations, will launch a new non-stop service to Porto, Portugal starting June 3, 2019. The city will receive three weekly flights from Campinas, Azul’s main hub, which will have a total of 17 weekly frequencies to Portugal. Sale of tickets to Porto has already started and is available on all Azul distribution channels. The Portuguese city is the second destination in Europe to receive flights from Azul after Lisbon.
