The Kerala government is planning to open pubs in the state’s IT parks. Replying to a question in the State Assembly on Wednesday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that many IT firms, keen to establish their units in IT parks in the state, have pointed out the lack of facilities like pubs there. He said the representatives sent by such IT firms for studying the facilities in the IT parks have reported to their management about the lack of such facilities. Nepal has agreed to align with Kerala on tourism and ayurveda. The decision was taken during the visit of the former prime minister of Nepal and senior leader of Communist Party of Nepal (UML) Jhala Nath Khanal. Aditya, the first solar powered ferry in the country, has completed two years of operation today. It was a major step from the part of the state government in public transport. With the introduction of Aditya, The Department of Water Transport has accomplished the concept of utilizing modern ideas in a beneficial way. The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, has inaugurated the one-month long Jatayu Carnival at Chadayamangalam in Kollam. “Jatayu Earth’s Centre has the potential to be the most popular destination,” said the chief minister after inaugurating the Carnival. “The Earth’s Centre area is very pleasant and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Yoga centre, Ayurveda centre, adventure tourism and the state of the art cable car system are all of international standard,” he said. The Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport & Highways, Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will lay the foundation for India’s largest Dry Dock at Cochin Shipyard in Kerala tomorrow. The Dry Dock will give an impetus to “Make in India” initiative under Sagarmala and raise India’s share in global shipbuilding to 2 percent. India currently occupies 0.66 per cent share in global shipbuilding market. The Kochi-Muziris Biennale Foundation is planning to raise Rs 10 crore for the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund for flood victims. The amount will be mobilized by the Biennale Foundation through an auction of works by world famous artists at Mumbai. It was informed by Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala on a review meeting held on 15th October 2018, assessing progress of the works for the biennale. The Kerala Travel Mart 2018 has kick-started in Kochi at the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolghatty on September 27, with the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan officially inaugurating the event by lighting the traditional lamp. More than 1600 buyers from India and abroad are in Kochi to participate in the Kerala Travel Mart.
