Kerala Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran launched the state’s first parasailing project at Hawa Beach in Kovalam on the 16th of January. “Kovalam is a famed international beach destination. The new facility will give a boost to water sport activities in Kovalam, besides complementing the efforts to develop the state as a major adventure tourism hub,” Surendran said after launching the activity. With an aim to give a much-anticipated fillip to the adventure tourism sector in Vizag, the Andhra Pradesh tourism authorities have decided to introduce parasailing at the Rushikonda beach. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation is all set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in this regard with a private operator. The facility will be made available to the public only after the signing of the MoU. The APTDC is also planning to introduce a new boat service at the Rishikonda beach. As part of the 72nd Independence Day celebrations, the Indian Air Force has opened an adventure park at the Bagdogra Air Force Station in Siliguri. The IAF has lined up a series of other events in the next seven days. Santosh Chaudhary, the president of the Air Force Wives’ Welfare Association at the IAF station, inaugurated the Freedom Adventure Carnival at the newly developed Eastern Air Command Nodal Centre’s Adventure Park in Bagdogra.
