North East Connectivity Summit begins in Arunachal Pradesh
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has inaugurated the 5th North East Connectivity Summit at Tawang, organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The theme for this year’s summit is ‘Tourism Connectivity’. “North East has unique and distinctive culture.The people are known for great hospitality.The Ministry of tourism wants to advertise it globally and put everything related to North East on the Global Map. “Cultural diversities and their richness have put northeast altogether on a higher position,” said Jagdish Mukhi, Assam Governor. IIE organizes adventure tourism fest in Assam
IIE Officials at the press meeting at Guwahati (Picture Courtesy: Manash Das) Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) is organizing ‘North East Adventure Tourism Festival’ at Bogamati in Baksa district of Assam, from 13th to 16th September 2018. Ministry seeks to ease Sikkim, Arunachal travel for foreigners
Till now tourists need to apply for travel documents such as the protected area permit (PAP) and the restricted area permit (RAP) before visiting Arunachal Pradesh and parts of Sikkim. And, now, as part of its plans to attract more tourists, the government is proposing to remove restrictions for foreigners who want to travel to these destinations. Ministry proposes special tourism package for North East
The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) has asked the Finance Ministry to allot funds and special packages for the development of tourism in North Eastern states. The proposal for funds and package was confirmed by Department of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Minister Jitendra Singh on Friday after a meeting with Union Tourism Minister Alphons Kannamthanam. As per reports, the ministers discussed about recognizing new projects stressing the development of tourism in Northeastern states.
