Neelakurinji season starts in July
Munnar ghats are ready to witness the visual extravagance – blooming of Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana), which happens once in twelve years. This time it is expected to be between July to October. Kerala Tourism Department hopes it would revive the tourism industry, which has adversely affected by the Nipah virus outbreak during the last month.
Traffic curbs for Munnar’s kurinji season
The long-awaited ‘neelakurinji’ season is all set to begin from August to November. Munnar town and nearby areas are preparing to receive the tens of thousands of visitors who would be flocking the hills of Munnar to experience the ‘neelakurinji’ season. As per the official data, around eight lakh visitors are expected in Munnar during the ‘neelakurinji’ season. ഇത്തവണ നീലക്കുറിഞ്ഞി കാണാന്‍ എട്ടുലക്ഷം സഞ്ചാരികളെത്തും
നീലക്കുറിഞ്ഞി പൂക്കുന്ന ഓഗസ്റ്റ് മാസത്തില്‍ മൂന്നാറിലേയ്ക്ക് എട്ടുലക്ഷം സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ എത്തുമെന്ന് നാറ്റ്പാക്ക് പഠന റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ തിരക്കു കണക്കിലെടുത്ത് കുറിഞ്ഞിക്കാലം അവസാനിക്കുന്നതുവരെ രാവിലെ ഏഴു മുതൽ രാത്രി ഏഴു വരെ മൂന്നാറിൽ ഗതാഗത നിയന്ത്രണം ഏർപ്പെടുത്താനും തീരുമാനമായി. മൂന്നാറിലേക്കുള്ള റോഡിൽ മൂന്നു സ്ഥലത്ത് വാഹനങ്ങൾ നിയന്ത്രിക്കും. അടിമാലി–കുമളി, മൂന്നാർ കോളനി റോഡ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ വൺവേ പോയിന്‍റ് സജ്ജമാക്കും. ഇരവികുളം ഉദ്യാനത്തിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായ രാജമലയിലേക്കുള്ള പരമാവധി സന്ദർശകരുടെ എണ്ണം പ്രതിദിനം 4000 ആയി നിജപ്പെടുത്തും. 75 ശതമാനം ടിക്കറ്റുകള്‍ ഓൺലൈൻ വഴിയാകും നല്‍കുക. ബാക്കിയുള്ള 25 ശതമാനം ടിക്കറ്റുകള്‍ കൌണ്ടറുകള്‍ വഴി നല്‍കും. എല്ലാ പാർക്കിങ് സ്ഥലത്തും നിരീക്ഷണ ക്യാമറകൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കും. ഇരവികുളം ദേശീയോദ്യാനത്തില്‍ നിന്നും കുറിഞ്ഞി പൂക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്കു ജീപ്പ് സർവീസ്, ഓട്ടോ ടാക്‌സി പ്രീപെയ്ഡ് കൗണ്ടറുകൾ, ആരോഗ്യം, ദുരന്തനിവാരണം, ശുചിത്വം, ശുചിമുറിസൗകര്യം തുടങ്ങിയവയ്ക്കായി ടാസ്‌ക് ഫോഴ്‌സ്, തിരക്കു നിയന്ത്രിക്കാൻ മൂന്നാറിൽ മൂന്നിടത്തു പ്രത്യേക പാർക്കിങ് സംവിധാനം തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് പ്രധാനമായും മൂന്നാറില്‍ ...
