The fourth cycle of the All India Tiger Estimation 2018, results of which were declared to the nation on Global Tiger Day last year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has entered the Guinness World Record for being the world’s largest camera trap wildlife survey. Terming this achievement a great moment, Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said that India has fulfilled its resolve to double the tiger numbers four years ahead of target. No tiger safaris in Telangana this monsoon
Travellers to Amrabad and Kawal tiger reserves in Telangana have to keep in mind that the authorities have temporarily stopped the popular jungle safaris in these two reserves during this monsoon season. This season is considered a breeding season for most animals. The decision was taken as per the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), which first issued a directive in this regard in 2015.
