The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, is organising the annual event, “International Tourism Mart” (ITM) at Kohima, Nagaland from 27 November to 29 November 2021 with the objective of highlighting the tourism potential of the region in the domestic and international markets. Chief Minister of Nagaland Shri Neiphiu Rio, Minister of State for Tourism & Defence, GoI, Shri Ajay Bhatt and MLA & Advisor Tourism, Government of Nagaland Shri. Nagaland’s Virtual Hornbill Festival kicked off on 01st December
This year’s edition of Nagaland’s much-loved Hornbill festival will be held virtually, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. The festival’s 21st edition will be held from December 1 to 5 and will be aired on national and local news channels. The Festival is named after the Indian Hornbill, the large and colourful forest bird which is displayed in folklore in most of the state’s tribes. Canada travel advisory warns citizens not to travel to India
The Government of Canada has issued travel advisory warning its citizens not to travel to India. “Exercise a high degree of caution in India due to a continuing threat of terrorist attacks throughout the country at all times,” it said. The advisory also tells to avoid non-essential travel to parts of north eastern India, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland, due to conflict. It also advises to avoid all travel to Western border with Bangladesh and Jammu and Kashmi, due to sporadic terrorist activity and violent demonstrations. Tripura to host 7th International Tourism Mart
Ujjayanda Palace, Agartala Tripura will host the 7th International Tourism Mart from 22nd November 2018 at Agartala. The three day event, which aims at propagate tourism potentials of the northeast states, will have tour operator delegates from 18 countries. It was announced by Singha Roy, Tripura Tourism Minister on Sunday. North East Festival begins in Delhi

Tourism ministry sanctions Rs 426.02 crores for Tribal & Rural Circuits
The Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned Rs 426.02 crores for Tribal and Rural Circuit under Swadesh Darshan Scheme, said K J Alphons, Minister for Tourism. Tribal and Rural Circuits are among the fifteen thematic circuits identified for development under Swadesh Darshan Scheme. “The projects under the scheme are identified for development in consultation with the State Governments/UT Administrations and are sanctioned subject to availability of funds, submission of suitable detailed project reports, adherence to scheme guidelines and utilization of funds released earlier,” said the minister.
