Tourists in Mysore to have double-decker buses for sight seeing
Following the success of the ‘Open Bus’ rides introduced during Dasara celebrations, Karnataka state government has now decided to put double-decker buses in Mysuru. A double-decker bus from the fleet of BMTC in Bengaluru was procured during the Dasara festivities to promote tourism, and take tourists around the city for sight-seeing. This initiative was well-received. This was perhaps the driving force behind the announcement, the stakeholders say. Aggressive promotion plans for Mysuru’s tourism
The stakeholders in the Mysuru tourism industry have suggested measures to encourage tourists to stay longer in Mysuru in lieu making it a one-day thing. Evening cultural shows, shopping festivals, and late-hour food hub etc. could be introduced for extending the night life. Another key issue that was raised at a stakeholders’ meeting here on Tuesday was revival of Brindavan Gardens, which they said was in a jumbles, with nothing new to offer to the tourists.

Mysore Travel Mart 2018 begins; Min promises 3 new flights
Mysore is going to be well connected by air with Goa, Mumbai and Kochi, under the UDAAN scheme, promised K J Alphons, Union Minister for State for Tourism, while addressing the inaugural function of Mysuru Travel Mart 2018.
