Uber launches water taxi services in Mumbai
Uber app has introduced UberBoat in Mumbai. Through the Uber app, riders/passengers can book their speedboats from the Gateway of India to Elephanta Islands and further to Mandwa Jetty and vice versa. Sanjay Bhatia, Chairman, of the Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) has launched the Uber Water Taxi App in collaboration with Maharashtra Maritime Board and UBER. MbPT is foreseeing the Mumbai city’s Eastern Water Front as Sea Transport and Tourism Hub. In this direction, MbPT has completed projects like Domestic Cruise Terminal, Mumbai-Goa Cruises Services, Floating Restaurants in Mumbai Harbour and Ro-Pax Terminal so far. Manifold water front development project coming up at Mumbai Port
Nitin Gadkari , Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport & Highways, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, to inaugurate two floating restaurants under the ongoing water front development work of Mumbai Port in Mumbai on 17th November 2018. It was announced by a press release by the Ministry of Shipping. Nitin Gadkari The Minister will also launch the Access Control and Radio-Frequency Identification System (RFID) as well as development of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Mumbai-Goa cruise ferry to be operational after monsoon
The Mumbai-Goa cruise ferry service, which is set to start after the monsoon, will also have its halts in towns like Ratnagiri, Malvan, Vijaydurg and Raigad. The Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT), the executing authority of the project has already appointed an operator who will run the cruise services. New cruise from Mumbai to Goa
Mumbai Port Trust, in association with private tour operators, is about to start a new cruise service from Mumbai to Goa. As per media reports, all necessary verification processess are completed by Mumbai Port Trust and are waiting for the government approval. “We have developed the domestic cruise terminal building. Operator is yet to get few permission and also delivery of vessel which operator has ordered from abroad got delayed.
