RT Mission plans to introduce story telling and cultural sessions in tourism
As part of diversifying the tourism products and to encourage sustainable tourism models, the Responsible Tourism Mission of Kerala is planning a number of innovative concepts in the tourism sector of the state. The objective of the programme is to recompense the loss in the tourism sector due to drop in the number of tourists in the previous year, due to various reasons. As per RT Mission, several community-level tourism activities such as storytelling and cultural sessions will be launched in the month of March. Eight more RT model villages to be developed in Kerala
Followed by the successful implementation of Responsible Tourism in some of the destinations in the state, the RT Mission is all set to develop eight more RT model villages across Kerala. Also, the People’s Participation for Participatory Planning and Empowerment through Responsible Tourism (PEPPER), an innovative integrated tourism project of the RT Mission that ensures whole-hearted participation of the people in the particular locality, will be extended to 10 more centres. At present RT is implemented in Kovalam, Kumarakom, Thekkady, Vythiri, Ambalavayal, Bakel and Kumbalangi. വേമ്പനാട്ടു കായലില്‍ അതിവേഗ ജലപാത വരുന്നു
കുമരകത്ത് നിന്ന് മുഹമ്മയിലെത്താന്‍ ജലഗതാഗത വകുപ്പിന്റെ അതിവേഗ ജലപാത തയ്യാറാകുന്നു. കുമരകത്ത് നിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുന്ന ബോട്ട് 20 മിനിറ്റിനുള്ളില്‍ എത്തുന്ന പാതയുടെ ഹൈഡ്രോഗ്രാഫി സര്‍വേ പൂര്‍ത്തിയായി. ഉള്‍നാടന്‍ ജലഗതാഗത വകുപ്പാണ് പദ്ധതി നടപ്പാക്കുന്നത്. ജലപാതയില്‍ എക്കലടിഞ്ഞു പല സ്ഥലത്തു ആഴം കുറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതിനാല്‍ 40 മിനിറ്റ് വേണം ഇപ്പോള്‍ വേമ്പനാട്ടു കായയലിലൂടെ ബോട്ടിന് മുഹമ്മയില്‍ എത്താന്‍. ജലപാതയിലൂടെതന്നെ ബോട്ട് ഓടിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയാത്ത അവസ്ഥയാണ്. ബോട്ട് സുഗമമായി ഓടണമെങ്കില്‍ രണ്ടര മീറ്റര്‍ ആഴമെങ്കിലും വേണം. ജലപാതയുടെ പലസ്ഥലത്തും ഒന്നര മീറ്റര്‍ താഴ്ചയേയുള്ളൂ. ജലപാതയുടെ ആഴം കുറവുള്ള ഭാഗത്തെത്തുമ്പോള്‍ ബോട്ട് വഴിമാറി സഞ്ചരിച്ചശേഷം വീണ്ടും ജലപാതയില്‍ എത്തിയാണ് യാത്ര തുടരുന്നത്. മുഹമ്മയിലേക്കുള്ള സര്‍വീസിനിടെ പലതവണ ബോട്ട് വഴിമാറി ഓടേണ്ടി വരുന്നതിനാല്‍ സമയം കൂടുതലെടുത്താണ് സര്‍വീസ് പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കുന്നത്. മുഹമ്മ സ്റ്റേഷന്‍ ഓഫിസിനോട് ചേര്‍ന്നുള്ള ഹൈഡ്രോ ഗ്രാഫിക് സര്‍വേ ഓഫിസാണ് സര്‍വേ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കിയത്. സര്‍വേഫലം ഇനി ജലഗതാഗതവകുപ്പിനു കൈമാറും. തുടര്‍ന്ന് എസ്റ്റിമേറ്റ് എടുത്തു ഭരണാനുമതിക്കായി വിടും. സാങ്കേതികാനുമതി കിട്ടുന്ന ... കുമരകം- ആലപ്പുഴ എസി ബോട്ട് യാത്രയ്ക്ക് സജ്ജം
വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രമായ കുമരകത്തുനിന്നു സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് ഇനി ഒരു മണിക്കൂര്‍കൊണ്ടു ജലമാര്‍ഗം ആലപ്പുഴയില്‍ എത്താം. ജലഗതാഗത വകുപ്പിന്റെ 120 യാത്രക്കാര്‍ക്കു കയറാവുന്ന എസി ബോട്ടാണ് വേമ്പനാട്ടുകായലിലൂടെ ആലപ്പുഴയില്‍ എത്തുന്നത്. വൈക്കത്തുനിന്നു കൊച്ചിയിലേക്കു ജലഗതാഗത വകുപ്പിന്റെ മറ്റൊരു എസി ബോട്ടും സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്കായി സര്‍വീസ് നടത്തും. സംഘമായി യാത്രചെയ്യുന്നവരെ ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടാണു പുതിയ സര്‍വീസ്. ബോട്ടിന്റെ സീറ്റിനനുസരിച്ചു സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ ഉണ്ടാവണം. നിരക്കു സംബന്ധിച്ച് ഉടന്‍ തീരുമാനമെടുക്കും. എല്‍ഡിഎഫ് മന്ത്രിസഭയുടെ രണ്ടാം വാര്‍ഷികത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ചു സര്‍വീസ് തുടങ്ങാനാണ് ഉദ്ദേശ്യം. സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ കുമരകം ബോട്ട് ജെട്ടിയില്‍നിന്നു ജലഗതാഗത വകുപ്പിന്റെ ബോട്ടില്‍ കയറി മുഹമ്മയില്‍ എത്തിയശേഷം അവിടെനിന്നു ബസില്‍ ആലപ്പുഴയിലേക്കു പോകുകയാണിപ്പോള്‍. മുഹമ്മയില്‍നിന്നു ബസ് ഉടന്‍ കിട്ടിയാല്‍ത്തന്നെ കുമരകം – ആലപ്പുഴ യാത്രയുടെ ആകെ സമയം ഒന്നര മണിക്കൂറാണ്. കുമരകത്തുനിന്നു ബോട്ടില്‍ കയറിയാല്‍ മറ്റു തടസ്സമില്ലാതെ നേരെ ആലപ്പുഴയില്‍ എത്താമെന്നതാണു പുതിയ സര്‍വീസിന്റെ നേട്ടം. ജലഗതാഗത വകുപ്പിന്റെ ‘സീ പാതിരാമണല്‍’ ടൂറിസം പദ്ധതിയും ഉടന്‍ തുടങ്ങും. കുമരകത്തുനിന്നു കായലിലൂടെ യാത്രചെയ്തു പാതിരാമണല്‍, തണ്ണീര്‍മുക്കം, ...
