ASI facilitates online booking for monuments
Delighting news for those who love a bit of history! The tourists who wish to visit historic monuments in the country can now book the tickets from mobile phones. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has signed MoU with Yatra.com and BookMyShow, which will allow the foreign and domestic tourists online for the listed 141 historical monuments, sites and museums in India. The list includes the famed Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Sun Temple, Qutub Minar, Ajanta and Ellora caves etc. The online booking move is to support government’s ‘Digital India’ initiative. Red Fort ‘adopted’ by cement company Dalmia
Ministry of Tourism has signed an MoU with Dalmia Bharat and the Archaeological Survey of India to adopt the iconic Red Fort monument in New Delhi and Gandikota Fort in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh under the ‘Adopt a Heritage’ project. The ‘Adopt a Heritage’ scheme, launched by President Ram Nath Kovind on World Tourism Day in September last year, invites government and private parties to operate and maintain heritage sites.
