The Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Limited has announced special packages to Bogatha, Kuntala and Pochera waterfall sites as part of its monsoon tourism campaign. All the three sites have some stunning waterfalls set in the green canopy and has become all the more beautiful after being blessed by abundance of rain in the region. Jog Falls Unlike the monsoon seasons earlier, this year the tourism sector of Karnataka is experiencing a boom, instead of shortfall in the number of tourists. Incessant rains these days have revived the rivers and waterfalls, which lure a number of tourists during this off season. “Earlier, June and July were considered off-season. Now there is a change in the trend. People like to travel during monsoon. While Kerala has been facing the mishaps of incessant rain during this monsoon season, there is happy news for the tourism industry. As per the recent report by the online booking agency ‘MakeMyTrip’, Kerala tops the favourite place for tourists during this monsoon. According to MakeMyTrip, there have been 100 per cent growth in bookings for the major tourist places of Kerala – Thekkady, Alappuzha and Munnar, during this monsoon season. Malshej Ghat Expecting a heavy tourist inflow during the monsoon season, the Maharashtra Tourism Department has issued strict advisories to district collectors to identify a list of “vulnerable” spots and take precautionary measures to avoid unfortunate incidents. Joint Managing Director, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), Ashutosh Rathod,  told the media that state Tourism Minister Jaykumar Rawal had instructed district collectors to enhance security measures after identifying the spots at risk.
