Mizoram has only one direct air link with Kolkata, operated by Air India, after Jet Airways withdrew its service from the state citing non-viability of route. Air India (AI) has deferred the additional flight service to Mizoram on the Kolkata-Aizawl-Kolkata sector from April 2-9, said the principal consultant for state civil aviation, Wing Commander Joe Lalhmingliana on Monday. The schedule was postponed owing to operational compulsion, a statement said. The airline also fixed fares, as per which, Kolkata-Imphal route was fixed at Rs 5,716, Imphal to Aizawl at Rs 2,995 and Aizawl- Kolkata (via Imphal) was fixed at Rs 3,495. The additional flights ... The Government of Canada has issued travel advisory warning its citizens not to travel to India. “Exercise a high degree of caution in India due to a continuing threat of terrorist attacks throughout the country at all times,” it said. The advisory also tells to avoid non-essential travel to parts of north eastern India, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland, due to conflict. It also advises to avoid all travel to Western border with Bangladesh and Jammu and Kashmi, due to sporadic terrorist activity and violent demonstrations. State of Madhya Pradesh bagged the award for the Most Film Friendly State for its efforts towards easing filming in the State by creating a well-structured web site, film friendly infrastructure, offering incentives, maintaining databases, undertaking marketing and promotional initiatives. The Most Film Friendly State Award was announced today by the Chairman of the Jury, Ramesh Sippy. The Awards will be presented by Hon’ble President of India Ram Nath Kovind on May 3rd, 2018 during the presentation of the National Film Awards. Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and Mizoram government have entered into an agreement to boost investment and develop tourism in the northeastern state. “The tourism and agro-market potential of the state were worth exploring, for which more states like Maharashtra and corporate houses can help.
