The Kerala Travel Mart 2018 has kick-started in Kochi at the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolghatty on September 27, with the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan officially inaugurating the event by lighting the traditional lamp. More than 1600 buyers from India and abroad are in Kochi to participate in the Kerala Travel Mart. The buyers group includes representatives and heads of tourism projects and heads of tourism from the country and outside. Major focus to be given for responsible tourism and ecologically friendly tourism projects in Kerala, opined Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief Minister of Kerala. The minister was addressing a gathering at the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolghatty after inaugurating the 10th edition of Kerala Travel Mart today. “The government is aiming to position Kerala in the world tourism map through promoting Responsible tourism. The 10th Kerala Travel Mart, which is to held from 27 to 30 September 2018 at Bolghatty Grand Hayatt, Kochi, will focus on Malabar Tourism. The four day programme aims at making the tourism sector of the state to be a sustainable source of income. കേരളത്തിലെ ടൂറിസം വികസനങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി മലബാര്‍ ടൂറിസം വികസന പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങി. ഈ വര്‍ഷം മലബാറിലെ പ്രധാന പ്രവൃത്തികളെല്ലാം തീര്‍ക്കാനാണ് ടൂറിസം വകുപ്പിന്‍റെ പദ്ധതി. മലബാറിലേക്ക് കൂടുതല്‍ സഞ്ചാരികളെ എത്തിക്കാനാണ് ടൂറിസം വകുപ്പ് പദ്ധതികള്‍ വിഭാവനം ചെയ്യുന്നത്. കാസര്‍ഗോഡ്‌, കണ്ണൂര്‍, കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലകള്‍ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ചുള്ള ടൂറിസം വികസനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് 600 കോടി നീക്കിവെച്ചു. അഞ്ച് വര്‍ഷത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ പദ്ധതികള്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തീകരിക്കാനാണ് ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്. പദ്ധതിയുടെ ആദ്യപടിയായി കോഴിക്കോട് മിഠായിത്തെരുവ് നവീകരിച്ചു. വിദേശ വിനോദ സഞ്ചാരികളില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ശതമാനവും എറണാകുളം, തിരുവനന്തപുരം, ഇടുക്കി, ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലകളാണ് സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കുന്നത്. മലബാര്‍ മേഖലയിലേക്കുള്ള സന്ദര്‍ശനം കുറവാണ്. ഇതു പരിഹരിക്കാനാണ് ടൂറിസം നയത്തില്‍ മലബാര്‍ ടൂറിസത്തിന് കൂടുതല്‍ പ്രാധാന്യം നല്‍കിയത്. ജില്ലകളിലെ പൈതൃകങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പ്രാധ്യാനം നല്‍കി ടൂറിസം പ്രചാര പരിപാടികള്‍ ആരംഭിച്ചു. തലശ്ശേരി ടൂറിസം പൈതൃകം പദ്ധതി ആരംഭിച്ചതായി ടൂറിസം ഡയറക്ടര്‍ പി. ബാലകിരന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. കൂടാതെ മലബാര്‍ റിവര്‍ ക്രൂയിസ് ടൂറിസം പദ്ധതിയുടെ പ്രാരംഭ പരിപാടികള്‍ക്കും തുടക്കമിട്ടു. കണ്ണൂര്‍ വിമാനത്താവളം ...
