Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board is deepening its foothold in the Indian market with the appointment of Seema Kadam as it’s first-ever Regional Director, India. In 2018, Los Angeles welcomed 130,000 visitors from India, an increase of 5.1% making India the third-highest year-over-year international growth market for Los Angeles. In her role, Kadam will develop and support air service for Los Angeles International Airport, spearhead strategic travel trade engagement including the implementation of a robust training program, using the L.A. Early in July 2019, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, an iconic architectural masterpiece in the heart of Barnsdall Park in the East Hollywood district of Los Angeles was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The first Los Angeles landmark to be designated a World Heritage Site, Hollyhock House is part of a UNESCO group officially titled the 20th-Century Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, which includes eight major works spanning 50 years of the famed architect’s career. Hainan to launch Xi’an-Los Angeles service on December 31
Hainan Airlines is planning to launch non-stop service between Xi’an and Los Angeles on December 31. It will be the first scheduled service between Xi’an and Los Angeles and the only intercontinental route between Xi’an and the United States. The Xi’an-Los Angeles service is scheduled to take off from Xi’an at 9:10 pm every Monday and Thursday BJT, and land at Los Angeles at 18:10 pm PT after being in the air for 12 hours and 10 minutes. China Southern Airlines will commence new non-stop service from Los Angeles to Shenyang, China from December 18th, 2018. Shenyang is located in the northeast corner of China and is the fourth largest city in the country.
