Ladakh, Leh, Kargil to become carbon neutral zone: Prime Minister Modi
The Ladakh, Leh and Kargil regions will be developed and declared as a carbon neutral region, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his Independence Day speech on Saturday. While the concept of carbon neutral villages have been looked at in India in the past and some villages in Kerala and Manipur have adopted it, this will be the first large region to be carbon neutral. “Just like Sikkim has positioned itself as an organic state, the Ladakh, Kargil and Leh region is moving in the direction of becoming carbon neutral. ലഡാക്ക്: ഇന്‍ഡസ് നദീമുഖത്തെ ചാന്ദ്രനഗരം
ജമ്മു കാശ്മീരിലെ ഇന്‍ഡസ് നദിതീരത്ത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ലഡാക്ക് സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രമാണ്. മൂണ്‍ ലാന്‍റ്, ബ്രോക്കണ്‍ മൂണ്‍ എന്നീ പേരുകളിലും ലഡാക്ക് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. മനോഹരമായ തടാകങ്ങള്‍, ആശ്രമങ്ങള്‍, ഭൂപ്രദേശം, കൊടുമുടികള്‍ എന്നിവയാല്‍ സമൃദ്ധമാണ് ലഡാക്ക്. സമുദ്രനിരപ്പില്‍ നിന്ന് 3500 മീറ്റര്‍ മുകളിലാണ് ലഡാക്കിന്‍റെ സ്ഥാനം. ലോകത്തെ പ്രമുഖ പര്‍വത മേഖലകളായ കാരക്കോണത്തിനും ഹിമാലയത്തിനും ഇടയിലാണ് ലഡാക്ക്. കൂടാതെ ലഡാക്ക് താഴ്വരക്ക് സമാന്തരമായി സന്‍സ്കാര്‍ ലഡാക്ക് മേഖല കൂടി കടന്നു പോവുന്നു. വലിയൊരു തടാകമായിരുന്ന ലഡാക്ക് പിന്നീട് വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ കടന്നുപോയപ്പോള്‍ താഴ്വരയായി രൂപപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നെന്നാണ് പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ജമ്മു കാശ്മീരിലെ പ്രമുഖ നാട്ടുരാജ്യമായിരുന്ന ലഡാക്ക് തിബത്തന്‍ രാജാക്കന്‍മാരായിരുന്നു ഭരിച്ചിരുന്നത്. പതിനെട്ടാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്‍റെ ആദ്യകാലത്ത് ലഡാക്കും ബാള്‍ട്ടിസ്ഥാനും ജമ്മു കാശ്മീര്‍ മേഖലയിലേക്ക് ചേര്‍ക്കപ്പെട്ടു. 1947ല്‍ ഇന്ത്യാ വിഭജന സമയത്ത് ബാള്‍ട്ടിസ്ഥാന്‍ പാകിസ്ഥാനിലേക്കു പോയി. ബുദ്ധമതമാണ് ഇവിടത്തെ പ്രധാന മതം. ല‌ഡാക്കിലെ പ്രമുഖ ആകര്‍ഷണങ്ങളില്‍ ആശ്രമം അഥവാ ഗോമ്പാസും ഉള്‍പ്പെടും. ഹെമിസ് ആശ്രമം, സങ്കര്‍ ഗോമ്പ, മാത്തോ ആശ്രമം, ശേ ഗോമ്പ, ... Ladakh awarded ‘Best Adventure Tourism Destination 2018’
Ladakh has been awarded as the ‘Best Adventure Tourism Destination’ in Outlook Traveller Awards 2018 held in New Delhi. “The tourism department has taken concerted efforts to promote adventure tourism and sports in Ladakh. Trekking activities like Chadar trek on the frozen Zanskar River, hiking to Stok Kangri (6121 m) and Nun and Kun Peaks (7135 m), besides biking to Pangong Lake are popular activities attracting a large number of travellers.
