Renovated Kozhikode south beach beckons visitors
Kozhikode south beach, one of the popular beaches in north Kerala, is beckoning tourists after the recent face-lift. The beach has been the dumping yard of wastes for the past few years. With the revamping works, the beach has become beautiful and is with lots of amenities to the visitors. Tourism minister Kadakampalli Surendren will inaugurate the renovated beach on 19th July 2018. Around 800 meters from the south sea bridge has been refurbished with four view spots. അതിമനോഹരമായി അണിഞ്ഞൊരുങ്ങിയ സൗത്ത് ബീച്ച് സഞ്ചാരികളെ വരവേല്‍ക്കുന്നു. ഇനി നഗരത്തില്‍ സായാഹ്നങ്ങള്‍ ചെലവിടാന്‍ അതീവ സുന്ദരമായി ഒരുക്കിയ സൗത്ത് ബീച്ചിലേക്കും പോവാം. കോഴിക്കോട്ടെ മാലിന്യങ്ങളെല്ലാം കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് തള്ളിയിരുന്ന ഇടമായിരുന്നു സൗത്ത് ബീച്ച്. ആ ബീച്ചാണിപ്പോള്‍ നവീകരണവും സൗന്ദര്യവത്ക്കരരണവും പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കി സഞ്ചാരികളെ സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്യുന്നത്. 19 ന് മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രനാണ് ഉദ്ഘാടനം നിര്‍വ്വഹിക്കുക. അറവുശാലകളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള മാലിന്യം തള്ളുന്നതും സാമൂഹ്യ വിരുദ്ധ ശല്യവും കാരണം സൗത്ത് ബീച്ചിലേക്ക് പോകാന്‍ പോലും പറ്റാത്ത അവസ്ഥയായിരുന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. വലിയങ്ങാടി ഭാഗത്തേക്ക് ചരക്കുകള്‍ ഇറക്കിയിരുന്ന കടല്‍പ്പാലവും ഗോഡൗണും പ്രദേശങ്ങളും ഏറെക്കാലമായി കാട് പിടിച്ച് കിടക്കുന്ന അവസ്ഥയിലായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ തെക്കേ കടല്‍പ്പാലത്തിന് തെക്ക് ഭാഗത്ത് നി ന്ന് 800 മീറ്ററോളം നീളത്തിലാണ് കടപ്പുറം നവീകരിച്ചത്. നാല് വ്യൂ പോയിന്റുകള്‍, ടൈല്‍ വിരിച്ച നടപ്പാത, ഇരിപ്പിടങ്ങള്‍, വിളക്കുകള്‍ എന്നിവയെല്ലാം ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. വ്യൂപോയിന്റുകള്‍ക്ക് സമീപം കോണ്‍ക്രീറ്റ് ഇരിപ്പിടങ്ങളും അലങ്കാരപ്പനകളും വെച്ചുപിടിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. സോഡിയം വേപ്പര്‍ വിളക്കുകള്‍ തെളിഞ്ഞ കടപ്പുറത്തിന്റെ രാത്രി ദൃശ്യം ... Kerala’s food capital to get a sports beach soon
The District Tourism Department planning to introduce outdoor sports promotion facilities on the Kozhikode beach. Plans are that a football and volleyball courts to be developed along the beach. There will also be an exclusive track for cycling. Looking at the developments, it is sure that the department is planning to convert the famous Kozhikode beach into the first modern sports beach in the state. കോഴിക്കോട് നഗരത്തിലെ വിനോദ സഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളില്‍ ഭിന്നശേഷിക്കാര്‍ക്ക് കൂടുതല്‍ സൗകര്യമൊരുക്കുന്നു. ജില്ലാ ടൂറിസം പ്രമോഷന്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലാണ് നഗരത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ടൂറിസം സെന്‍ററുകളെ ഭിന്നശേഷി സൗഹൃദ സ്ഥലങ്ങളാക്കുന്നത്. പദ്ധതിയുടെ ആദ്യപടിയായി സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ എത്തുന്ന കോഴിക്കോട് ബീച്ചില്‍ ഭിന്നശേഷിക്കാര്‍ക്ക് എളുപ്പത്തില്‍ കയറാന്‍ വീല്‍ചെയര്‍ സൗഹൃദ പ്രവേശന കവാടം ഒരുക്കും. കൂടാതെ ഭിന്നശേഷിയുള്ളവര്‍ ഓടിക്കുന്ന വണ്ടികള്‍ പാര്‍ക്ക് ചെയ്യാന്‍ പ്രത്യേക സൗകര്യവും പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി ഒരുക്കും. എളുപ്പത്തില്‍ പോകാനും വരാനും പറ്റുന്ന രീതിയിലാവും പാര്‍ക്കിംഗ് ഒരുക്കുക. ഭിന്നശേഷി സൗഹൃദ ടൂറിസം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളെ ആകര്‍ഷിക്കുമെന്ന് ജില്ലാ ടൂറിസം പ്രമോഷന്‍ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. കേരളത്തില്‍ ഒരുവര്‍ഷം 1.3 കോടി ആഭ്യന്തര ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളും 10.7 ലക്ഷം വിദേശ ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളും എത്തുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇതില്‍ 10 ശതമാനം ഭിന്നശേഷിയുള്ള വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളാണ്.
Kozhikode beach to be differently-abled friendly
The Calicut District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) is planning to build wheelchair-friendly entrances at major tourism destinations in the city. The first in the list will be the much famed Kozhikode beach. Exclusive parking slots for the vehicles driven by differently-abled will also be arranged as part of the project. The guarded parking spaces will be designed to ensure easy entry and exit. The disabled-friendly tourism spots is also expected to attract foreign tourists. Of the 1.3 crore domestic tourists and 10.7 lakh international tourists arriving in Kerala, 10 per cent belongs to the differently-abled category.
