Government will ensure complete vaccination in the tourism sector: Minister Mohammed Riyaz
Efforts are being made to make Kerala Tourism a fully vaccinated sector. The government aims to vaccinate as many people as possible in the tourism sector before next season, Tourism Minister P.A. Muhammad Riyaz said. Tourists will come to Kerala, Only if there is a sense of security. Everyone in the sector should register and complete the vaccination as soon as possible. KTM Society urges members to contribute to CM’s Relief Fund
The Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) Society has urged its members to contribute to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, to support the government in fighting the pandemic. “It is our responsibility to extend support to the government by contributing our humble share towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, even though we are in deep trouble,” said KTM President Baby Mathew, in a letter addressed to the members. “Every small amount of help from us is valuable and we can collectively extend our financial support to the government. Kerala Travel Mart 2020 to focus on adventure tourism

KTM gets new committee for 2019-21, Baby Mathew Somatheeram re-elected President
Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) Society revamped its managing committee for 2019-21, retaining top functionaries including Baby Mathew Somatheeram as the president, Swaminathan S as vice-president and Jose Pradeep as honorary secretary of the organisation that works for the promotion of the state’s tourism with the help of public-private partnership. The 2000-founded institution, which conducts the biennial KTM that hosts the country’s largest buyer-seller meet in the tourism segment, will have Hari Kumar C as the honorary joint secretary and Scaria Jose as the honorary treasurer. Tourism Minister to launch project to make tourism centres in Kerala garbage, plastic-free
Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism, Govt of Kerala, will inaugurate the project for the implementation of Green Code of Conduct in selected tourist centres to keep them plastic and garbage-free zones, on July 24. The programme, being organized by Responsible Tourism Mission (RT) in association with Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) and local self government institutions, will be held at Chaithram Hotel, Thampanoor at 11 am. Kerala Travel Mart appoints Shine K S as new CEO
The Kerala Travel Mart Society has appointed Shine K S as the Chief Executive Officer. Shine will replace Mathew Philip, who is serving his last day today as the CEO of the KTM Society. “The Society has experienced 17 years of true professionalism and exemplary service from Mathew Philip,” said Jose Pradeep, Secretary, KTM. Shine will join office from February 1, 2019. Shine was working as the Deputy Director of Tourism, Government of Kerala.
Kerala tourism industry takes hard stance against enforced hartals

KTM-2020 to be plastic-free; plans are afoot for a permanent venue
An encouraging response to the Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) has prompted the idea of a much spacious permanent venue from the next edition of what is already the country’s biggest tourism event, organisers said on Sunday. KTM-2020 will also be plastic-free even as the September 27-30 venue of the biennial event took exceptional care to ensure cleanliness, they told a press conference. US, UK buyers top the foreign buyers list in Kerala Travel Mart
The ongoing tenth edition of Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) in Kochi has the highest number of foreign buyers from US and UK, signalling the growing interest of visitors from these countries in Kerala. As many as 42 buyers have arrived from the US while around 40 buyers have turned up from the UK for business interactions with the sellers, being held at Samudrika and Sagara Convention Centre, Willingdon Island. Two huge kettukaalas are welcoming the visitors at Kerala Tourism stall at the 10th edition of Kerala Travel Mart held at Samudrika Convention Centre, Wellington Island, Kochi.
