കണ്ണൂരിലെ കാഴ്ചകള്‍ കാണാനെത്തുന്നവര്‍ ആറളം വന്യജീവി സങ്കേതം കാണാതെ പോകരുത് പ്രകൃതിയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന ആരും ആറളം മറക്കരുത്. ജില്ലയിലെ ഏക വന്യജീവി സങ്കേതമായ ആറളം, കണ്ണൂര്‍ നഗരത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് 54 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ അകലെയാണ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. കോഴിക്കോട് നിന്ന് തലശേരി- കൂത്തുപറമ്പ് വഴിയാണ് ആറളത്തേക്ക് പോകാനാവുക. കാടിനെ അടുത്തറിയാന്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ മുപ്പതംഗ സംഘമാണ് ആറളത്തേക്ക് യാത്രതിരിച്ചത്. പുലര്‍ച്ചെ ഏഴര മണിയോടെ തന്നെ എല്ലാവരും യാത്രക്കൊരുങ്ങി കോഴിക്കോട്ടെത്തി. നല്ലൊരു എയര്‍ബസിലായായിരുന്നു ആറളത്തേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര. സുഹൃത്തുക്കള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ളവര്‍ ഒരുമിച്ചുള്ള ഒരു യാത്രയുടെ സന്തോഷം എല്ലാവരിലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. യാത്ര തുടങ്ങും മുന്‍പേ നാല് കുല വാഴപ്പഴവും കുപ്പിവെള്ളവുമായി ടീം ലീഡര്‍ ഫഹീമും ജോയലും ആദ്യം ബസില്‍ കയറി. ബസ് കോഴിക്കോട് പിന്നിട്ടപ്പോഴേക്കും അധ്യാപകനായ സുഹൃത്ത് ആറളത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് വാതോരാതെ സംസാരിക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. ആറളം; പേരിന്‍റെ കഥ പുഴകളുടെ നാട് എന്ന അര്‍ഥത്തിലാണ് ആറളം (ആറിന്‍റെ അളം) എന്നു പേര് വന്നത്. വടക്കുകിഴക്കായി പശ്ചിമഘട്ട മലമടക്കുകളാലും തെക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറ് ആറളം പുഴയാലും ... After a successful ITB Berlin held in Germany from March 7-11, Kerala Tourism conducted a roadshow in Marseille, France on March 13. The Kerala Tourism is touring European countries as part of its marketing campaigns to attract more European tourists to the God’s own Country. Bhuddhist Remains in Salihundam The Union Minister of State (IC) for Culture and Minister of State for Environment, Forest & Climate Change Dr. Mahesh Sharma,  has announced the plans for upgradation of 100 Adarsh monuments of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Tourist amenities proposed to be upgraded include the parking, ticket counter, publication counter, cafeteria, toilet block, drinking water facilities, dustbins, benches, ramps (for the differently-abled), pathways, singages, etc. There are around 25 monuments under Phase I and 75 under Phase II. In view of the tragic death of several trekkers during the forest fire in the Kolukkumalai hills of Theni district in Tamil Nadu, the Chief Secretary and the Chairman of State Disaster Management Authority has issued directions to stop trekking to hills and also to ensure that all fire lines are cleared. In view of the situation, the state has issued 6-point instructions with immediate effect. No movement of members of public inside forest areas, without permission will be allowed. Kerala Tourism’s new campaign has bagged the prestigious ‘Golden City Gate Award’ at the world’s leading travel trade show ITB in Berlin. Titled ‘Live Inspired’, the multimedia campaign that seeks to promote God’s Own Country as an art and cultural hub, is directed by Samir Thahir. The Golden City Gate Award is dubbed as the Oscar of tourism communication at the Internationale Tourismus-Borse Berlin (ITB-Berlin). The Tourism department of Kerala is promoting the benefits of Ayurveda at ITB Berlin. The aim is to bring more tourists to experience the benefits of Ayurveda, said Kerala Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran in an exclusive interview to Tourism News Live, The department’s stall at the Kerala pavilion in ITB is focusing on Ayurveda. “Ayurveda is the backbone of tourism in Kerala, and hence we are promoting the ancient stream of medicine to the people across the globe,” said the minister. Kerala Tourism is all set to introduce a new brand ambassador, says P Bala Kiran, IAS, Director, Kerala Tourism at ITB Berlin exclusively to Tourism News Live. “A new campaign will be launched in the coming months with a new brand ambassador to promote Kerala to the globetrotters across the world,” he said. India is not just depending on the foreign tourist arrivals, close to 24 million Indians travelled last year. “In 2017, 1.8 million trips were made by Indians within the country and which will go up to 2 million in 2018 and we want this number to increase dramatically, its not just about international arrivals but also Indians visiting India,” Tourism Minister K J Alphons said while interacting to the travel/tour operators in a Q&A session at the ITB Berlin.
