Kerala tourism is targeting up to 15 per cent growth in number of tourist arrivals in 2018. The state witnessed overall growth of 10.94 per cent in tourist arrivals in 2017. Domestic tourists were up by 11.39 per cent, while the number of foreign tourists increased by 5.1 per cent in the period. “We are looking at an overall growth of up to 15 per cent in total number of tourist arrivals to the state in 2018. സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് എത്തുന്ന ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളുടെയും ടൂറിസം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളുടെയും പൂര്‍ണ സുരക്ഷ ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നതിന് നിലവിലുള്ള സുരക്ഷാ സംവിധാനങ്ങള്‍ മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന് സംസ്ഥാന പൊലീസ് മേധാവി ലോക്നാഥ് ബെഹ്റ ഉത്തരവു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു. ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ ആദ്യമായി ടൂറിസം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളില്‍ ടൂറിസം സംരക്ഷണ പൊലീസ് സഹായ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങള്‍ ആരംഭിച്ച സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നാണ് കേരളം. ഇത് കേരളത്തിലെ എല്ലാ ടൂറിസം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലും ജൂണ്‍ 15നകം പ്രവര്‍ത്തനക്ഷമമാക്കാനാണ് ഉത്തരവില്‍ നിര്‍ദേശം. സുരക്ഷ ഉറപ്പാക്കാന്‍ ജില്ലാ പൊലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ പരിശീലനം നല്‍കി നിയോഗിക്കും. കൂടാതെ പുതുതായി സേനയിലെത്തിയ വനിതാ പൊലീസുകാരെയും ടൂറിസം പോലീസ് വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ നിയോഗിക്കും. സുരക്ഷാ നടപടികളുടെ ഭാഗമായി തദ്ദേശ സ്വയംഭരണ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങള്‍, മറ്റു വകുപ്പുകള്‍, സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലെ ഹോട്ടലുകളും വ്യാപാര സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളും, ടാക്സി-ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവര്‍മാര്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവരുടെ സഹകരണവും ഏകോപനവും ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തണമെന്ന് ബെഹ്‌റ നിര്‍ദേശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. തദ്ദേശ സ്വയംഭരണ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങള്‍, വിനോദ സഞ്ചാര വകുപ്പ് എന്നിവയുടെ സഹായത്തോടെ നിരീക്ഷണ ക്യാമറകളും സ്ഥാപിക്കും. സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ സ്വകാര്യതയ്ക്ക് ഭംഗം വരാത്ത തരത്തിലാണ് ഈ നടപടികള്‍ നടപ്പാക്കുക. ടൂറിസം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലെ ...   Laurels are always in rhyme with Kerala Tourism. Now, Kerala has been voted as the best Indian destination for families by world’s largest travel magazine Lonely Planet. Kerala was selected as the best Indian destination for families through an online poll conducted among the readers of the magazine. The award was received today by the Tourism Director Balakiran IAS at an award function held at St. Regis Hotel, Mumbai. Jatayu Nature Park is one of the most anticipated tourism projects in Kerala. The park began its partial operation as the Adventure Rock Hill was opened in December 2017. The fully functional park was set to open on May 23rd, but the inauguration has been shifted on grounds of Chengannur by-election set for May 28th. One the historically important destinations in Kerala, the Kappad beach, has been shortlisted by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) for the prestigious Blue Flag certification. The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has launched pilot project ‘Blue Flag’ to develop and enhance standards of cleanliness on beaches. The ‘Blue Flag’ is a certification by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) that a beach, Marina or sustainable boating tourism operator, meets its stringent standards. The Kerala Tourism Facebook page got first place in a ranking done by Facebook based on total engagement with tourists that included reactions, shares and comments on the page between the 1 January and 31 December, 2017 time frame. The Kerala Tourism page pushed the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department’s Facebook page to the second place. The Kerala Tourism Facebook page had garnered 1.5 million likes to emerge as the top page. Tourism industry is one which suffers the most due to the sudden and recurring harthals. In a decision coming as a great relief to the tourism industry, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the tourist sector will be exempted from the harthals and strikes at a whole-party meeting on Tuesday. Kerala Tourism’s ‘Project Muziris’ has been chosen the Best Innovative Tourism Project at the Global Star Awards 2018. Noushad P M, Managing Director of the Muziris Projects has received the award at the event held in New Delhi. Project Muziris was picked for the award as it has added to Kerala’s array of attractions. In the wake of the recent death of Latvian tourist in the state, Kerala Tourism Department has decided to strengthen the tourism police force in the state, and is also planning to recruit more women to the force. Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism, has informed informed this after a meeting held with senior tourism and police officials.
