Kerala Travel Mart Society (KTM) is organizing a Covid Vaccination Drive in collaboration with the Kerala Tourism Department, to give priority to those who are working in the tourism sector. The aim is to make Kerala the first 100% tourism-vaccinated state in India by providing complete vaccination to those working in the tourism sector and other tourism associates. Kerala Tourism launches new programme with KITTS to train guides
Photo Courtesy: Unique Travels The Kerala Tourism Department, in association with Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS), will launch a programme to train tourism guides in the state. The programme aims to create a pool of trained tourist guides with a firm understanding of the job and excellent proficiency in languages. As part of the programme, 150 regional guides and 50 state level guides will get proper training. Kerala Tourism launches eco-tourism micro website
Kerala Tourism has launched a micro website with the details of ecotourism centers in Kerala. Kadakampally Surendran, Tourism Minister inaugurated the website on 27th October 2018. The web site has information of 47 eco-tourism centers and hundreds of details in 35 eco-tourism centers, 75 videos, over 200 images and e-brochures containing more than 30 pages of 10 centers. The website has more than 500 pages. The web site also gives details of various trekking routs, which will be beneficial to adventure lovers. IPL-model boat race in Kerala
The Kerala Tourism Department is all set to give a new face to the much-famed boatraces in Kerala. From this season onwards, the boatraces would be held in the IPL model, which will include Nehru Trophy boat race at Punnamadakkayal in Alappuzha to the Presidents Trophy boat race in Kollam. Christened as Kerala Boat Race League, the race will be conducted from 11 August 2018 to 1 November 2018. The decision was taken in a meeting convened by tourism minister Kadakampally Surendran.
