കവ്വായി കായലിന്റെ ദൃശ്യഭംഗി ആസ്വദിക്കാന്‍ ജലഗതാഗത വകുപ്പ് സഞ്ചാരികളെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. നിലവിലുള്ള യാത്രാ ബോട്ടുകള്‍ സൗകര്യപ്പെടുത്തിയാണ് ഏഴിമലയുടെയും കായലിന്റെയും വിവിധ ദ്വീപുകളുടെയും മനോഹര ദൃശ്യം കാണുവാന്‍ ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നത്. കൊറ്റിയില്‍ നിന്ന് പടന്നയിലേക്ക് 33 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ കായല്‍വഴിയുള്ള യാത്രക്ക് 19 രൂപയാണ് ഒരാളുടെ യാത്രക്കൂലി. രണ്ടേ മുക്കാല്‍ മണിക്കൂര്‍ ദൃശ്യങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടു ബോട്ടിലൂടെ യാത്ര ചെയ്യാം. ഏഴിമലയും അതിന്റെ മനോഹരമായ താഴ്വരയും ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ നിരവധി തുരുത്തുകള്‍. ഒരു ഭാഗത്തു കടലും മറുഭാഗത്തു കായലും. കണ്ടല്‍കാടുകളും കല്ലുമ്മക്കായ കൃഷിയും എല്ലാം ഈ ബോട്ട് സഞ്ചാരത്തിലൂടെ കാണാന്‍ കഴിയുമെന്നാണ് ജലഗതാഗത വകുപ്പ് പറയുന്നത്. കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും നീളം കൂടിയ പഞ്ചായത്തായ വലിയപറമ്പ് പഞ്ചായത്തിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ വീതി 400 മീറ്ററാണ്. ഇതിന്റെ നീളം 24 കിലോമീറ്ററും. ഇതിന്റെ തീരത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുമ്പോള്‍ അറബിക്കടലിന്റെ മനോഹാരിത ആസ്വദിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയുമെന്നാണ് ഇവര്‍ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടുന്നത്. പയ്യന്നൂര്‍ റെയില്‍വേ സ്റ്റേഷന്റെ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ഭാഗം കൊറ്റിക്കടവില്‍ നിന്ന് രാവിലെ 10.30ന് ബോട്ടില്‍ കയറിയാല്‍ 12.30ന് ...
