CM Nithish Kumar flag off the bus service between Bihar to Nepal (Photo Courtesy: PTI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has flagged off the first ever direct bus service between Bihar and Nepal on Tuesday, 11th August 2018. An air-conditioned deluxe bus will link two cities in Bihar – Patna and Bodh Gaya; and two in Nepal – Kathmandu and Janakpur. “This bus service will further strengthen the relations between India and Nepal. As per the first six months’ reports of 2018 by the Immigration Department of Nepal, almost one lakh Indians visited the Himalayan Nation, out of the total 5,20,000 foreign tourists. Chinese came second with 71,379 visitors, while US became third 43,816 visitors during the six months. The total number of foreign visitors during this period shows an increase of 13 per cent, when compared to the same period in the previous year. Over 1500 pilgrims along the route of Kailash Mansarover Yatra in Nepal are stuck in Nepal due to bad weather. About 525 pilgrims are stranded in Simikot, 550 are in Hilsa and another 500 more in Tibet side, an official statement by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said. Indian Embassy has issued helpline numbers for pilgrims and their family members. The pilgrims have been stranded after heavy rains caused landslips at several locations. The embassy said that the stranded pilgrims are being given proper medical attention and arrangements have been made to ensure the availability of food and water. “The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu ... The much awaited Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM) 2018, a mega tourism event, is scheduled to be held at Kathmandu in Nepal on June 1. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Nepal in association with Nepal Tourism Board, Pacific Asia Travel Association – Nepal Chapter and Nepal Airlines, is organising the 3-day event.
