Glass ceilings for Kashmir trains by May
Next time when you board a train in Kashmir, you would be awestruck watching the snowcapped mountains and the rural landscapes through the glass ceilings. With an aim to woo tourists, the Indian Railways is planning to introduce glass roof-top coaches on the Kashmir rail line. The vistadome coach, announced in June last year, has already arrived and will be introduced in May. ഏഷ്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ടുലിപ് പൂന്തോട്ടമായ ശ്രീ നഗറിലെ ഇന്ദിര ഗാന്ധി മെമ്മൊറിയല്‍ ടുലിപ് പൂന്തോട്ടം സന്ദര്‍ശകര്‍ക്കായി തുറന്നു കൊടുത്തു. ദാല്‍ തടാകക്കരയിലെ സബര്‍വന്‍ താഴ്‌വരയില്‍ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന പൂന്തോട്ടത്തില്‍ 1.25 മില്യണ്‍ ചെടികള്‍ ആണ് ഉള്ളത്. അതില്‍ ഇത്തവണ നട്ടിട്ടുള്ള 48 ഇനം വത്യസ്തമായ ഇനം ടുലിപ് പുഷ്പങ്ങള്‍ പൂന്തോട്ടത്തില്‍ കാണാനാവും. സംഘര്‍ഷ സാധ്യത തുടരുന്ന കാശ്മീരിലേക്ക് വിനോദ സഞ്ചാരികളെ ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നതില്‍ പൂന്തോട്ടം ഏറെ പങ്കുവഹിക്കും എന്നാണ് ടൂറിസ്റ്റ് മന്ത്രാലത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീക്ഷ. കാശ്മീരിലേക്ക് ഇത്തവണ നിരവധി വിനോദ സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ എത്തുമെന്ന് ഫ്ലോറി കള്‍ച്ചര്‍ മന്ത്രി ജവൈദ് മുസ്തഫ മിര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. വസന്തക്കാലത്ത് മാത്രം പൂക്കുന്ന ടുലിപ് പുഷ്പങ്ങള്‍ രണ്ടാഴ്ചക്കാലം മാത്രമാണ് ആയുസ്.
Access to forbidden areas likely for foreign tourists except from Pak, China
Foreign tourists, except those from Pakistan and China, may soon be allowed to visit some of the most pristine locations of the country, kept out of bound so far for them without a special permit. The Union home ministry is examining whether to relax the six-decade-old Restricted Area Permit regime, under which foreigners must obtain a special permission to visit Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir among others. “Discussions are on with the state governments to relax the Restricted Area Permit provisions for some areas for foreign tourists,” said Union Minister of ... Firing on LoC in Uri sector
Photo Courtesy: OTV An infiltration bid by militants has been foiled on the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Baramulla district. India and Pakistani troops on Tuesday exchanged fire along LoC in Rajouri and Uri. No casualties have been reported so far. “Noticing suspicious movement in Gohalan area on Monday, alert troops fired forcing the infiltrating militants to flee back,” Defence Ministry sources said. “Pakistan Army started firing at Indian positions immediately after the infiltrators were forced to withdraw.
