Karnataka tourism to develop 41 destinations to boost tourism in state
Music pillars of Hampi, Karnataka Karnataka Tourism is planning to develop tourism in the state by developing almost 41 destinations. “We have identified 41 focus destinations for priority development and promotion. The master plan for the development of 21 of those destinations has been completed, and implementation of projects has been initiated,” said BS Yediyurappa, Chief Minister, Karnataka. The state government is also planning to increase its gross state domestic product contribution from tourism to 20 per cent. Karnataka Tourism to organise international travel expo in Bengaluru
Karnataka Tourism will be organising Karnataka International Travel Expo 2019 from August 25-27 in Bengaluru. The travel expo will feature around 350 international and domestic buyers interact, network and do business with exhibitors and stakeholders from the state. Manjarabad – a mystical fort at Sakleshpur in Karnataka

Chamundi hills to go eco-friendly
Chamundesswary Temple The union ministry has sanctioned development project worth Rs 100 crore in Chamundi Hills of Karnataka, under the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive) scheme. The project will be implemented without affecting the surrounding ecosystem of the iconic Chamundesswary temple. The ministry has approved the project in principle and it is said to be the only temple from Karnataka to have developmental works as per the PRASAD scheme. Kuveshi canopy walkway in Karnataka to be open for public this November
India’s first canopy walk is all set to open for tourists by mid-November. Though it was inaugurated in February, entry of tourists was barred because of monsoon. The 240 meter canopy walkway 30 meters above ground level in the dense forests of Western Ghats was constructed by the The Forest and Tourism departments jointly at a cost of Rs 84 lakh. Dudhsagar waterfalls is now open to public
The authorities have officially opened the Dudhsagar waterfalls, situated deep within the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary. The new season commenced on Tuesday with 1,127 tourists recorded on day one. The all-terrain vehicles ferrying passengers to and fro needs prior permission from the forest department. This season, almost 431 such vehicles have been registered with the state wildlife board. The forest department has restricted the number of trips by the all-terrain vehicles to 170 per day during weekdays and 225 per day on weekends. Zip-line to come across Cauvery by December
The Tourism Department of Karnataka is planning to install zip-lines to come across Cauvery to attract the adventure buffs. The adventure seekers can soon enjoy zip-line rides across the Cauvery at Chunchanakatte. The installation of zip-lines will take a minimum of three months. The Tourism Department has identified Chunchanakatte waterfalls near K R Nagar as ideal for zip-lining, and is expected to begin the works post monsoon.
