Kerala’s Responsible Tourism strikes gold at national award event
In yet another endorsement of the globally-renowned Responsible Tourism project of Kerala as a path-breaking model, the community-driven initiative has bagged the coveted gold in the “Best Future Forward State” category at the sixth edition of the Indian Responsible Tourism Awards held at Konark in Odisha. Kerala Tourism signs MoU for conducting Champions Boat League
Kerala Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a consortium led by Delhi-based E Factor Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. for branding, promoting, marketing and revenue generation activities of the Champions Boat League from 2019 to 2023. As per the MoU, the agency will be responsible for promotional activities for five years. The government will get 35 per cent revenue share. The other member of the consortium is AMP Communications Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. Ponmudi KTDC Resort to have additional 15 rooms
Ponmudi, the renowned tourist destination of Thiruvananathpuaram, is going to have additional 15 rooms, including 5 independent cottages, in the Golden Peak Resort. Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran will dedicate the additional facilities to the public on 18th December 2018. A Sampath MP, DK Murali MLA and M Vijayakumar, KTDC Chairman, will also attend the function, among other dignitaries from KTDC and the local bodies. Twelve-point action plan to revive Kerala tourism
Kerala Tourism has put forth a 12-point Action Plan to overcome the crisis in the sector due to the recent floods. The time-bound action plan is aimed at increasing tourist arrivals in the upcoming peak season through aggressive marketing campaign within the country and in source markets of Kerala abroad. “Tourism programmes will not be cancelled in the name of cost control,” said Kadakmpally Surendran, Tourism Minister. പാര്‍വതി പുത്തനാര്‍ ശുചീകരിക്കുന്നു: വരുന്നത് വെനീസിനെ വെല്ലും ജല ടൂറിസം
പോളകള്‍ നിറഞ്ഞും മാലിന്യം മൂടിയും അഴുക്കുചാലായ തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ പാര്‍വതി പുത്തനാര്‍ പഴയ പ്രൗഢിയിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ച് വരുന്നു. പാര്‍വതി പുത്തനാര്‍ ശുചീകരണ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയന്‍ നേരില്‍ കണ്ടു വിലയിരുത്തി. ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രനും ഒപ്പമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. കോവളത്ത് തുടങ്ങി ഭാരതപ്പുഴ വരെ വിവിധ നദികളേയും കായലുകളേയും ബന്ധിപ്പിച്ചുള്ള ടി.എസ്.കനാല്‍ വീണ്ടെടുക്കല്‍ പദ്ധതിയുടെ പ്രധാനഭാഗമാണ് പാര്‍വതി പുത്തനാര്‍. ഇവിടെ ശുചീകരണ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ ഏപ്രിലില്‍ തുടങ്ങിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു. 53 വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ശേഷം ആദ്യമായാണ് പാര്‍വതി പുത്തനാറിനെ സമഗ്രമായി ഗതാഗതയോഗ്യമാക്കാനുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തി നടത്തുന്നത്. ഇതിന് സമാന്തരമായി കോഴിക്കോട് കനോലി കനാല്‍ വൃത്തിയാക്കല്‍, മാഹി-വളപട്ടണം പുഴകളെ ബന്ധിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് 26 കി.മി പുതിയ കനാല്‍ നിര്‍മാണം എന്നീ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളും ഒന്നാംഘട്ടത്തില്‍ നടക്കും. 2020 മെയില്‍ ഒന്നാംഘട്ടം പൂര്‍ത്തിയാകും. പാര്‍വതി പുത്തനാര്‍ വീണ്ടെടുക്കല്‍ പാര്‍വതി പുത്തനാറില്‍ കോവളം മുതല്‍ ആക്കുളം വരെയുള്ള 16 കി.മി ഭാഗം, ഏറ്റവും കുറഞ്ഞത് 3.7 മീറ്റര്‍ വെര്‍ട്ടിക്കല്‍ ക്ലിയറന്‍സോടെ ഗതാഗതയോഗ്യമാക്കുകയാണ് ഒന്നാംഘട്ടത്തില്‍ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്.. ഇത് ... സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ടൂറിസം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളുടെ സുരക്ഷ മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനായി കൂടുതല്‍ വനിതാ പോലീസിനെയും പരിശീലനം നല്‍കി ടൂറിസം വാര്‍ഡന്‍മാരെയും നിയോഗിക്കുമെന്ന് മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍. ടൂറിസം പോലീസിനുള്ള ത്രിദിന പരിശീലന പരിപാടി ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യുകയായിരുന്നു മന്ത്രി. വിദേശ വനിതയുടെ കൊലപാതകം പോലെയുള്ള ദാരുണ സംഭവങ്ങളും, അതിക്രമങ്ങളും ടൂറിസം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലുണ്ടാകാതിരിക്കാന്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ജാഗ്രത പുലര്‍ത്തേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ടൂറിസം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളില്‍ മയക്കുമരുന്ന് മാഫിയയുടെയും, കുറ്റവാളികളുടെയും സാന്നിധ്യം ഉണ്ടാകാതിരിക്കാന്‍ ടൂറിസം പോലീസ് കര്‍ശന നടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കണമെന്ന് മന്ത്രി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. ടൂറിസം പോലീസിനും വാര്‍ഡന്‍മാര്‍ക്കും ആധുനിക പരിശീലന പരിപാടികള്‍ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് ടൂറിസം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളെ സുരക്ഷിത മേഖലകള്‍ കൂടിയായി മാറ്റുന്നതിനാണെന്ന് കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ടൂറിസം മേഖലയിലെ അനഭിലഷണീയ പ്രവണതകള്‍ അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായി ടൂറിസം നയത്തില്‍ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച ടൂറിസം റഗുലേറ്ററി അതോറിറ്റി ബില്‍ അടുത്ത നിയമസഭാ സമ്മേളനത്തില്‍ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുമെന്നും ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രി അറിയിച്ചു. ടൂറിസം ഗൈഡുകള്‍ക്ക് ലൈസന്‍സ് ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തും. അനധികൃത ഗൈഡുകളെ ടൂറിസം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളില്‍ അനുവദിക്കില്ല. സുരക്ഷ കൂട്ടുന്നതിനൊപ്പം ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ സ്വകാര്യത ലംഘിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കാനും പോലീസ് ... The big bird is set to spread its wings on July 4

Kerala Tourism organizes roadshow in Marseille
After a successful ITB Berlin held in Germany from March 7-11, Kerala Tourism conducted a roadshow in Marseille, France on March 13. The Kerala Tourism is touring European countries as part of its marketing campaigns to attract more European tourists to the God’s own Country. The Marseille roadshow under the leadership of Rahul, Managing Director of Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), saw 15 tour operators from Marseille attending the show.
