The Kerala Tourism department is preparing a master plan for the comprehensive development of Kovalam. The tourism minister, Kadakampally Surendran has informed that necessary infrastructure facilities will be set up at Kovalam before the next tourism season. The new facilities include toilets, parking facility, waste management system, safety measures and street lighting at a cost of Rs 24 lakh. The department has already spent for lighting facilities. Rs 70 lakh was sanctioned for the renovation of the footpath. Tourism programs of the state will be carried out in line with the responsible tourism policy, reiterated Tourism Minister Kadakampalli Surendran. Our responsible tourism policy is not just to promulgate in meetings or to display on carnivals, he added. He was inaugurating the training program for the tourism resource persons selected by the Responsible Tourism Mission at Thiruvananthapuram on 19th June 2018.

യോഗ അംബാസഡർ ടൂർ സംസ്ഥാന ടൂറിസത്തിന്റെ വളർച്ചയെ സഹായിക്കുമെന്ന് വിനോദ സഞ്ചാര വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രൻ നിയമസഭയെ അറിയിച്ചു. യോഗ അംബാസഡർ ടൂർ പരിപാടിയെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കാൻ ടൂറിസം വകുപ്പ് നടപടി സ്വീകരിച്ചതായും പ്രതിഭാ ഹരി, എ എൻ ഷംസീർ, സികെ ഹരീന്ദ്രൻ, യു ആർ പ്രദീപ് എന്നിവരുടെ ചോദ്യങ്ങൾക്കു മന്ത്രി മറുപടി നൽകി. 2021ഓടെ കേരളം സന്ദർശിക്കുന്ന ആഭ്യന്തര ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ എണ്ണത്തിൽ 50 ശതമാനവും വിദേശ ടൂറിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ എണ്ണത്തിൽ 100 ശതമാനവും വർധനവാണ് ലക്‌ഷ്യം. ഇതിനായി  പ്രചരണ പരിപാടികൾ തുടങ്ങിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു. പുതിയ ബ്രാൻഡിംഗ് ആയ ‘കം ഔട്ട് ആൻഡ് പ്ളേ’  പ്രചാരണം തുടങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. കേരളത്തെ വിവാഹ/ സമ്മേളന ടൂറിസത്തിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രമായി വരും വർഷങ്ങളിൽ അവതരിപ്പിക്കും.നവ മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ വഴി ടൂറിസം പ്രചാരണം ശക്തമാക്കും.മ്യൂസിക്, കളിനറി ഫെസ്റ്റിവലുകൾ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുമെന്നും മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രൻ അറിയിച്ചു.

കേരളത്തിൽ വിനോദ സഞ്ചാരവകുപ്പിന്റെ ക്ലാസിഫിക്കേഷന്‍ സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റ്‌ ഇല്ലാത്ത നിരവധി ഹോം സ്‌റ്റേകള്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് സംസ്ഥാന ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രൻ അറിയിച്ചു. ഹോം സ്‌റ്റേ ക്ലാസിഫിക്കേഷന്‍ ഒരു ലൈസന്‍സിന്റെയും പരിധിയില്‍ വരാത്തതിനാല്‍ ഇത്തരം കേന്ദ്രങ്ങള്‍ക്കെതിരെ നടപടിയെടുക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കുന്നില്ല. ഇതു സംബന്ധിച്ച്‌ ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്യാന്‍ അടിയന്തിര യോഗം വിളിച്ചു ചേർക്കാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചുവെന്നും മന്ത്രി നിയമസഭയിൽ പറഞ്ഞു. കോവളത്ത് വിദേശ വനിത ലിഗയുടെ കൊലപാതകത്തെത്തുടർന്ന് ടൂറിസം പൊലീസിന്റെ നിലവിലുള്ള ശക്തി വര്‍ധിപ്പിക്കാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ടൂറിസം പൊലീസില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ വനിതകളെ ഉള്‍പ്പെടത്തുന്നതിനുള്ള നടപടികള്‍ ആരംഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്‌. ടൂറിസം പൊലീസിലെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ക്ക്‌ ഭാഷാനൈപുണ്യക്ലാസുകള്‍, അവബോധ ക്ലാസുകള്‍, ഇതര ട്രെയ്‌നിങുകള്‍ എന്നിവ കിറ്റ്‌സ്‌ മുഖാന്തിരം നല്‍കുന്നതിനു തീരുമാനിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്‌. സംസ്ഥാനത്തൊട്ടാകെ 178 ലൈഫ്‌ഗാര്‍ഡുകളാണ്‌ ടൂറിസം രംഗത്ത്‌ സേവനമനുഷ്ടിക്കുന്നത്‌. ഇവരുടെ സേവനം നിര്‍ദ്ദിഷ്ട കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളില്‍ ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നതിനു തീരുമാനിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്‌. വിനോദ സഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളില്‍ സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്കു നേരെയുള്ള മോശപ്പെട്ട പെരുമാറ്റവും ആക്രമണവും ചൂഷണവും തടയുന്നതിനായി വ്യാപാരികള്‍ക്കും ഓട്ടോ ടാക്‌സി ഡ്രൈവര്‍മാര്‍ക്കും തിരിച്ചറിയല്‍ കാര്‍ഡ്‌ നല്‍കും. ടൂറിസ്‌റ്റ്‌ ഗൈഡുകള്‍ക്ക്‌ ... Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism, Cooperation and Devaswoms, has welcomed Indian Medical Association (IMA) president Dr Ravi Wankadekar’s statement that Kerala has nothing to worry about the Nipah virus scare and that the state is absolutely safe from the virus. Tourism industry is one which suffers the most due to the sudden and recurring harthals. In a decision coming as a great relief to the tourism industry, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the tourist sector will be exempted from the harthals and strikes at a whole-party meeting on Tuesday. In the wake of the recent death of Latvian tourist in the state, Kerala Tourism Department has decided to strengthen the tourism police force in the state, and is also planning to recruit more women to the force.
