Kerala’s Responsible Tourism Mission Coordinator K. Rupesh Kumar has been selected to the International Panel for the Training of Community Based Tourism Trainers. Out of 300 trainees globally, only four are from India who has successfully completed the training and qualified for admission to the panel. Two of them are from Kerala. Apart from Rupesh Kumar, responsible tourism researcher Sebastian Kuruvila is another member of the panel from Kerala. Kerala’s heritage-preserving Responsible Tourism initiative has drawn up an ambitious project to tap the culinary skills of women at the grass roots, especially housewives, to dish out the distinct flavours of the state’s ethnic cuisine to visitors. The scheme, ‘Experience Ethnic Cuisine”, aims at gainfully engaging up to 50,000 home-makers across the state in three years, by roping in them as key stakeholders in the hospitality sector. Foreign tourist tries rubber tapping The online platforms developed by the Responsible Tourism Mission under the Department of Tourism are ready. The online platforms are developed with an aim to bring back all the sectors which were shattered during the times of the recent floods in Kerala. Followed by the successful implementation of Responsible Tourism in some of the destinations in the state, the RT Mission is all set to develop eight more RT model villages across Kerala. Also, the People’s Participation for Participatory Planning and Empowerment through Responsible Tourism (PEPPER), an innovative integrated tourism project of the RT Mission that ensures whole-hearted participation of the people in the particular locality, will be extended to 10 more centres. At present RT is implemented in Kovalam, Kumarakom, Thekkady, Vythiri, Ambalavayal, Bakel and Kumbalangi. The Responsible Tourism (RT) Mission is crafting a new web portal which will enable art lovers to make online booking of performances.  Performers will put up their work along with the details of the artists on the site. The portal is aimed at promoting local art forms, including dance, music, via online marketing. കോട്ടയം: കേരളത്തിന്‍റെ  ടൂറിസം മേഖലയിൽ ദീർഘകാല സുസ്ഥിര വികസന മാതൃകകൾ  വ്യാപിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള പരിശ്രമത്തിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി 1000 ഹോംസ്റ്റേകളും 300 ഫാം ഹൗസുകളും നിർമിക്കുന്നതിന്  പ്രാദേശിക സമൂഹത്തെ  സഹായിക്കുവാൻ തയ്യാറാവുകയാണ് സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്ത ടൂറിസം മിഷൻ. പദ്ധതിയുമായി സഹകരിക്കാൻ സന്നദ്ധത പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ച കോട്ടയം തിരുവാർപ്പ് എന്ന ചെറു ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ മികവാർന്ന സംരംഭകരോടൊപ്പം ഹോംസ്റ്റേകൾ, ഫാം ഹൗസുകൾ എന്നിവ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിൽ താത്പര്യം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന  അപേക്ഷകരുമായി  ജനുവരി 26 ന് ഉത്തരവാദിത്ത ടൂറിസം മിഷന്റെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ കാഞ്ഞിരം സർവീസ് സഹകരണ ബാങ്ക് ആഡിറ്റോറിയത്തിൽ വെച്ച് സമ്മേളനം സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു. തിരുവാർപ്പിൽ നിന്നും ലഭ്യമായിട്ടുള്ള  ആദ്യ സെറ്റ് അപേക്ഷകൾ കേരളത്തിന്‍റെ ടൂറിസം മേഖലയിൽ ഉയർന്നു വരുന്ന സംരംഭങ്ങളായും അവ കൂടുതൽ പേർ  ഈ മേഖലയിലേക്ക് കടന്ന് വരുന്നതിനും താത്പര്യം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും  പ്രേരണയാകുമെന്നും  ഉത്തരവാദിത്ത മിഷൻ കണക്കാക്കുന്നു. പദ്ധതികളനുസരിച്ച് ഹോംസ്റ്റേ, ഫാം ഹൗസ് സംരംഭങ്ങൾ സജ്ജീകരിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള  അപേക്ഷകൾക്ക്  ഉത്തരവാദിത്ത ടൂറിസം മിഷൻ മികച്ച പിന്തുണയേകുകയും ടൂറിസം പദ്ധതികളുടെ ഭാഗമായി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരു പ്രവർത്തനത്തിലും പ്രാദേശിക സമൂഹത്തിലുള്ളവരുടെ പങ്കാളിത്തം ഉറപ്പ്  വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും ...
