Vistara, SpiceJet announce new flights
Vistara has announced Dibrugarh as its twenty fourth destination in a press release. The carrier will operate its daily direct flights between Dibrugarh and Bagdogra, effective from April 3, 2019 at a starting all-inclusive fare of Rs 2,399. SpiceJet has also announced new flights to various domestic destinations at a starting price of Rs 2,293. The carrier has announced ten new flights at a starting all-inclusive price of Rs 2,293. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved renaming of Jharsuguda Airport, Odisha as “Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda”. Veer Surendra Sai is a well-known freedom fighter of Odisha. Renaming of the Jharsuguda airport in his name will fulfill long-pending demand of the Odisha Government, which reflects the sentiments of the local public of the respective area. Jharsuguda airport will boost tribal tourism: Odisha CM
Jharsuguda airport, Odisha Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha, has expressed optimism that the development of the diverse Odisha tourism products will receive a major stimulus following the functioning of the new commercial airport at Jharsuguda. While speaking on the second edition of the Odisha Travel Bazaar (OTB) 2018, organized by Odisha Tourism and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) last week, Patnaik said the Jharsuguda airport will boost tribal tourism and develop travel and tourism facilities in western Odisha.
